Considering new radiator.

Remind me to answer you questions later. Hit me up on AIM or MSN sometime. I'm about to leave work.

The thing is time is of the essence here. The heat is fast approaching, and I don't want another summer like last summer with this inadequate for what I'm doing radiator. I think it would be good to contact Koyo. How do I go about doing that?
I bought the AWR Radiator for my Probe....Tony has made one for the Probe/Mx6/626. I like it alot. Although I need to find a higher PSI radiator cap for it.....Patrick will you hit me up on AIM next time you are online?

has anyone tried a sprayer? you can make a simple one for like 3 bux in parts from home depot or an intricate one for like 10-15bux. there was an article about it in SCC a while back. I dont remember but I also saw some tests somewhere and it drops surface and overall temps of the rad pretty well.

anyhoo, just a thought, i was considering a new radiator also when I lived in AZ, now here in washington, not so worried.

I went out and took a look at the stock radiator today while washing the ride. I noticed that while the top and bottom endtanks give the appearence of thickness, looking at the accual core tells you otherwise. The core is thin at least 1/3 thinner than the endtanks! Looking at the AWR Radiator, the core looks to be as thick as the endtanks which translates to BETTER! Sign me up!

Chris, could you take a side profile picture of your AWR Radiator so that we can see the thickness of the core in relation to the endtanks?

Oh yeah sorry.

Big change or no on thermostat? I've been asking around and no one seems to really be able to answer, but, is it possible to get to much stuff and the car won't be able to warm up enough in say -10 weather? Just wondering...
Yeah, I think this is possible. Especially where you live. If I were you I would just go with the radiator. I don't think your summers are hot enough like the ones down SOUF! (Yes, I said SOUF!)

Here is a thread that may help: http://www.msprotege.com/forum/showthread.php?t=12753&highlight=Thermostat

Yeah, but at the same time, we get over 100 in the summers...

Yes, year round we can have that large of a temp difference between summer and winter.

On the average though, the weather is usually pretty nice.

I'll got with the radiator and oil cooler up front, and get more if needed.

Now I just need to get my gauge! Anyone have a goo didea of where to mount the senders to get an accurate idea of temps?

What do you think about mounting the temp sender for the oil temp gauge at the turbo feed line?

That's what I was thinking...

Where is that sport in relation to oil through the motor? Before or after oil cooler?

Any ideas for coolant temp?

That looks like the competition one, not the high performance model. On second thought, that's not even for the Protege...

how does the ECU know the temp then  If Linux can see temps with his PDA software?
I thought he could see the water temp, not oil temp.

Here is your profile shot with the end tanks...The end tanks are larger, ~1-7/8" and the core is ~1-5/16" thick...

This is true. I can see the water temps, not oil. To see oil temp, you need something aftermarket.

Hey Linux I may be joining you soon with an AWR rad to survive the turboness down in the dirty souf
