well here it is. i absolutely love my ms3. however i have always wanted a muscle car, more specifically a ls1 trans am or camaro. good things would be less money owed. dont get me wrong i can afford my payment now but it would be nice to have a little more cash to mod and spend. i havent found one yet but if i were to and it were at a dealer i would probably walk down there right now and trade in the ms3. love the idea of crusing with the t tops off love the idea of a v8 feeling it rumble omg... and love the idea of turboin it in the future and having a 500+whp car. but alas i do love my ms3. and gas might be a b**** for the ta but with the extra money i would be saving probably about 100 bucks a month would cover the gas easily. what do u guys think?

So you want to sell a new reliable car with a warrany and get an old car that requires constant maintenance and tons of labor??? Personally wait and keep the car save for awhile and then when you get older and more stable get a project car. Do not get an old trans am thats a sex offenders car imo :)

I think you are insane. You would be sacraficing everything that makes the speed3 what it is in that Camaro. No way on gods green earth!

I briefly consider a Dodge Magnum SRT-8 when I was Speed-shopping. Decided against it mainly 'cause it would have been about $10K more. Two Hemis is enough. The better gas mileage was a consideration as well.

my buddy's brothers ta has 68000 on it never had ne maintence issues ill admit i have a ricey side but theres something about the beastily v8... thanks for your input i guess we'll see what happens

You're going from one extreme to the other and there's nothing wrong with that if you realise it's an expensive way to live. I'd be willing to bet some $$ that if you sell your MS3, buy a F-body, that after a year or two, you'll be tired of how crude it is (brutal ride, unrefined interior, poor gas mileage, quite likely leaks from the t-tops, etc) that you will grow tired of it and buy a new import car.

The grass is alwasy greener on the other side with some folks.

True story.

i test drove a 06 GTO right before buying my MS3. the car had power at any RPM, but handled like s*** and the shifter felt like it was attached to a bowl of jello. im soooo glad i didnt buy that thing.

FOr me lol.....I always want something I dont have and when I get it ummmmm..whatever lol

I wanted a muscle car bought a mustang...I hated how it handled, how loud it was, and bought the speed now I miss the mustang lol......but Im sticking with teh mazda

ive got a way modded pickup truck. it makes a tractor sound quiet. its great to drive on sunday to wakeup everyone trying to sleep in. as an everyday driver, not so much. its cool if at some point you can afford both, but to get rid of the MS3 ( a perfect all around car ) you will probably regret it in a short time. thats just my overly sensible opinion. haha

you have to realize i could find a 2002 ws6 with 30,000 miles for around 13. i love my car but car payments are a b****

It's been forever since I drove a V8, but that rumble sure is nice. I appreciate too many kinds of cars- that's my problem. Something shiny & new (or old & memory-invoking) is always catching my eye. My friends used to joke about what kind of car I would buy every year, and it wasn't an exaggeration when I was in my 20's.

If you have the itch and absolutely have to scratch it, just be sure you can ACTUALLY sell the MS3 for a high enough price before you get too far into the planning stages. Remember- KBB doesn't mean shiznit.

I had a 500hp MKIII Supra Turbo (7M-GTE, not the MKIV 2JZ-GTE) that was my pride & joy. A lot of good memories, but it always needed something tweaked or fixed, and really was only truly FUN to drive in a straight line, more or less.

But rather than get rid of my MS3, I'd want to buy a beater MKIII Supra, toss the engine into a ditch on the side of the road, rehab the chassis, then drop in a built 2JZ-GTE. As a 2nd car... a fun project. So there'd be no pressure to get it done or keep it running.

I doubt you will be getting that much worse of mpg in the muscle car compared to the MS3, if I do just city driving, I'll be getting about 250 mile per tank of gas.

I personally in the same boat as you. I'm getting tired of the whole small engine turbo setup, there is so much fine tuning and doing any work on the car is always a pain. I would like to get either a GTO, or a C5 Z06. They are fast and all motor. Plus the RWD is very tempting.

I do love my MS3 though, and it's been perfect to me, even when i drive it hard, but I think my tastes are starting to change. I used to see an EVO or an STI driving down the road and I would drool, but now when I see it, I just think "whatever" but when I see a nice SS camero, or an 03-04 cobra, or a nice Z06, those are the kinds of cars I like to look at now

American muscle is awsome, but it's only good for the 1/4 mile trill, the mazdaspeed 3 set up is a perfect all for all driving conditions.

Please stop. There are plenty of nicely tuned Camaros, Corvettes and Mustangs that will give any car a run for its money, even on tight, technical road courses. The misconception is that muscle cars are only good for the drag strip was born because dragging is cheaper/easier/less time-consuming than road racing. Go to any road course in this country and you'll see plenty of American V8's being well represented and kicking ass in the twisties.

thanks yeah man it would be nice to have more money to mod. im the first in my family into cars and i would love a car i can learn on. just dont have the income to be modding seriously. about once a month i can afford something around 250 or less and thats on an average months lately months have been sucking. but i dunno i would love to own a v8 the rumble the sound omg.. it just seems sti's evo's arent really turning my head. i find myself lookin at older ls1 vette's and trans am's considering buyin them

if you can get a 30,000 mile ws6 for 13k do it. but when i was looking for them 6 months ago a low mileage WS6 was going for more like 20k. but im in SoCal too, so that may be the reason.

sell ur car and do it, who cares about handling really? when do any of us REALLY go out and autox like some guys on here. u can upgrade suspension and all types of s*** on any car that is old and it would be just as good. ur just asking alot of ms3 owners if u should sell ur ms3, what do u think they will say? i say do what u want, payments = gay regardless if u can afford them or not.
