Complicated and Intricate Cruise Control Modification

Y'all are gonna love this. In fact, you're gonna be mad at me for not posting it about 10 years ago when I did it to my own car.

Step 1: Visit your friendly neighborhood arts & crafts store. You're looking for those decorative little plastic rhinestones you use to bedazzle pretty much anything. You want the stick-on type, and you need a fairly tiny variety. I chose black because my interior is black, but you can choose any color that floats your boat. You're gonna need exactly one, but you'll probably need to buy a package of 50 to get it. Fork over the two bucks.

The Cruise Control control panel consists of a set of three buttons in the lower right quadrant of the steering wheel. The center button says "CANCEL" on it. Peel your little rhinestone off its backing and stick it down on the surface of that center button, below and outboard of the word "CANCEL", near the outer edge of the button and centered between the top and bottom edges of the button.

You're done.

In operation, you can now easily feel where the CANCEL button is with your thumb; just feel for the rhinestone and press it. You can also readily find the other two buttons, as they are above and below the CANCEL button. You simply won't believe how much you'll like this until you try it.

You could, of course, make a cheap mod by just sticking a piece of tape on the button instead. Ugly, but it'll work.
