nice, anything i should be aware of mod wise before i come out, strict about HIDs? how are the roads? any good places out there to buy mods?

what is beyond.ca? is that an alberta forum?

are emissions laws any different? EX. Importing vehicles from the states?

We are alberta lol, we have no emissions laws here. We're a redneck province. If we had emmissions inspections, we'd get better cars and use less gas and our economy would suffer. Burn it up I say!

haha fair enough, so. . . newb to alberta question. . . Evo's available?

Some old ones i have seen around and at the track acouple of times.
Saw the new evo a couple of days ago.
Yup no laws in alberta lol. HIDS no problem, i got them.
Oh yeah there is one thing, tinted windows, you cant tint the front driver and passenger side windows, the backs you can go as dark as you want.
But lol im a rebel and i tinted my front windows 15% hehehe.
so far ive been pulled over by 4 cops for speeding, and not one of them give a s*** about the tint. but i did have amotorcycyle cop warn me about it.

other then that its all good, roads are always under construction.

Ya I've only ever had 1 tint ticket, and it was on my P5 which was lighter than my limo'd out Impala. (Limo o nthe fronts as well.)

i have the fronts tinted. . . but they arent THAT dark. . .

you say theres always construction, what are 40 series tires like on the roads?

I run 40's, I've bent one set of rims, but the city paid for it. Just be careful. They liketo leave manholes sticking up about 6", and they'd all but remove your oil pan for you, so go around them.

Ya..****** construction. The potholes in this town are gay too. ******' cheap ashphalt and low quality workers. THat's what you get.

would it be worth it to pick up an suv for the winter, i have no idea what the winters are like out there, i hear they dont plow the roads and use rocks instead of salt?

im only 19 as well, so i dont have much money and im just trying to get started into the career path i want to go into

Ya, my car doesn't even come out i nthe rain much less the winter lol. I have an '03 LX protege I use as a beater. You definitly (read: ) DO NOT want to drive your nice car i nthe winter in Calgary. What alot of people do is buy a cheap-o beater for like $700-$1000 and throw it away in the spring. Hell, my LX was only $3000 and it's a year newer than my P5! :p

yeah they do use rocks instead of salt, its a hole enviroment thing.
well winters in calgary are a bit tricky but yeah you aviod using your nice car.
causee we get chinooks(warm winds) in the middle of winter.
So one day its -30 C the next day all the snow is melting and its a massive soup out there, with + 10 C. so yeah it gets messed up.

What you serious 3 grand? how is that possible?
i bought my 01 LX protege 2 years ago for 9 grand.
i bet i still could sell it for 8 grand.

It has 244,000Km. It was an old courier car from Dynamex. I worked at a car dealer, and I got it at cost. THey only paid the guy $3K for it on a trade in. Look for "pics of the new pro" I put pics up of how gross it was and how clean it is now.
