Any South Florida drivers seeing a lowered MPG in this cold weather weve been having lately? Thanks

cold weather = denser air
more air, the computer squirts more fuel, so yes in theory you could be getting lower mpg

but whats prolly happening is you're flooring it more ;-] as that extra air/fuel makes a bigger bang, thus more horsies under your foot... just a guess on part =]

Up north they put s*** in the gas for the winter time...killllls my gas mileage. I used to get awesome gas once they switched back to the summer mix, but now they use that 10% ethanol BS.

only reason why im getting lower mpg is b/c the cooler air means more power since the turbo likey denser air.

so im getting lower mpg from hammering the gas pedal playing with the power increase(wiggle)

This will be the second winter for the Speed and the gas mileage goes down by a good bit when it gets cold.

Normal

you should see the differences in areas with real summer and real winter.

snow tires here don't help either.

Thats pretty sweet, $1.99 for premium. Over here at Shell, cheapest I have seen is $2.13 for Premium Shell V-Power.

Filled up yesterday here at home with 93 Octane at $1.87 and got my Kroger Fuel discount of $.50/gal too....$1.37 end price :)

I had a tank at 27.5 MPG and the next tank dropped to 23 MPG, same gas station and same commute. I think its the winter blend, that first tank when it got cold was the worst. After than I've gone back to 25ish.

Well your noticing the drop in MPG, because of the bulls*** meth that they are putting in the gas, thats what the govt does during winter months, it's SUPPOSE to help with cleaner burn. I've notice it once the temps dropped into the 40's, but oh well it's cheap enough right now so have fun with your car while you can still afford it as I am doing right NOW!! woo hooo.
