I was looking at my manifold the other day and was playing around with the various solenoids on it. When I was pushing on the big one to the left of the mani I heard that infamous cold rattle sound that I often hear. I never did attempt to fix the problem but I'll tell you guys how you may try if so inclined.
Look at the solenoid and you will see a little brass colored peg sticking out of the silver part of the manifold. What this does is limit the amount of travel when the solenoid oscilates. When it hits the maxima of travel on the little bar I think this creates the rattle. So I say go out and find some thin but soft rubber tubing and put it over that little peg I think the peg is about 1/16" in diameter but take a look I'm not sure. What this should in effect do is dampen the sound. Rattle fix and no hassle with the dealership.
I'm not sure if this fix has been discussed before but I thought I would post anyway seeing as how close I am to 500 posts yipee. I'm also sorry for posting it in this forum but I thought this would be where people checkdespite their trim level. Hope you guys found this informative.
