Cold engine

Hi looking for advise

2014 CX 5 with 2.5 engine about 8500 miles. The first start of the day the engines surges causing poor acceleration.,only on the first cold start. Blue lite on dash is on and takes a while to clear up. The weather here is above 90 so the outside temp is very warm. Just lookong for advise before going to the dealer. Thank you jack z.

Do you wait until the cold start mode ends (usually about 30 seconds) before you drive off? I always do that and never have any drivability issues.

I too notice some minor surging if I drive before the engine settles down or about 20 seconds or so. Ed

I have definitely seen this, even had the tires spin. Wasn't sure if it's the engine or transmission.
