coilovers.. down to 3

I'm also surprised nobody around here has tried the Tein's yet. They're a little pricier than the KSports but certainly have a better reputation. Because of the adjustability they are not really a direct competitor to the ST's or H&R. I think if I were going to go the coilover route that would be my pick. I'm slightly biased though since their rebuild facility is an hours drive away.

So have you made a decision yet? The XYZs are intriguing with dampening adjustment, but I know zero about them and don't know anyone running them. I'll keep my thoughts to myself on your 3 options since all the info I keep finding is false, ei: wrong Bilstein info on CS and ST having helper springs.
No decision yet.. I'm leaning towards the bilsteins.. I also waiting for corksport to announce something for the 2. I would have loved some tanabe.. I called them today and they are still under r&d in Japan. Even the ksport's people are rocking on here look nice. I blew most my budget on a impulse buy... post pics later this week. I'm now saving up again.

Ksport coils are something I'll never look into. I know people say they've up their quality and all that, but I've seen too many blow out right after the 1 year warranty is up. I know that happens with other brands, but due to Ksports' more budget-friendly prices, more people have bought their stuff than some of the other brands out there. I like your 3 options and honestly am not sure which I'd choose out of the 3. Good think I'm not coil shopping
I have had an extremely poor experience with tanabe. I had one of the shock housings shear apart on me while on the track in my wrx (sustec pro-ss). Ended up having to drive home (from north to south florida) through part of a hurricane with a stock unit on one front corner and worn summer tires. One of the more sketchy drives of my life. It was a ridiculous amount to get a new single unit so they went in the garbage. Went to USDM STi struts with some great RCE (racecomp engineering) springs and the car handled better than it did on the tanabes.
Interesting... well it seems that if we can all agree on one thing it's that any of the three choices wouldn't be a bad decision for the price range... and that everybody secretly wants me to go st's.. tein...xyz... or yellow for guinea pigs sake... maybe I should do another poll with the latter as options!
Well. The XYZ is the only dampening adjustable coil in your price range. It comes with a 1-Year Warranty from the manufacturer. They are listed on Amazon at $850 + $5 shipping from TRU Motorsport.

My Miata has been working as a seasonal Daily Driver, Autocrosser, and has about 300 Track day miles on a light year. She runs on Bilstein Custom Valved and its been a few years now. Bilstein makes a great damper. They can also revalve them and there are two other decent shock tuners that do the same for up to 150 per corner. So that is where I am with my Bilstein choice which is what I will be getting on mine.
I agree they make great dampers...but from what I've seen the OTS valving isn't always the best. Personally...if not for the cost my miata would have had an FCM setup(custom coilover setup based on revalved bilsteins). My budget koni setup (<400, mostly used parts) did turn out pretty awesome though. I'd really like to see some koni yellows for our cars.

You could add Standard Suspension (STD) on your list.
They are better quality than Ksport, are monotubes, body-adj. so you don't loose any travel, have a nice gradation system so you don't have to guess the ride height, are one-way adjustable and most of all they are the ONLY COILOVERS WITH FRONT CAMBER PLATES for our cars. You can adjust the damping from outside the shock at the rear, so no need to cut the trunk inner plastic trims. They have a warranty too.
Finally they are really competitive here in Canada in drift, track and rally.

Ride quality is better than my previous Ksport coilovers. It is on par with my previous custom JIC's (BJ Proteg) and better than my custom Tein's (NC Miata) and very near my KW V3's (same NC Miata). Adjustable damping work by turning a knob on top of the struts in front. In the rear, they have a really cool knob on the shock, so you just have to reach it by the outside. Other coilovers needs you to cut the inner plastic trims.
