I've narrowed it down to H&R Street performance... Bilstein b14's... and St's... all are non damper adj... only height adjustable. the H&R and bilstein seem very similar... and i'm leaning more towards the 2 over ST's. Price wise they are all in my budget ranging from 800 to 1000. my car is my daily driver... my wife drives it 10% of the time so that 10% is whats worrying me... the comfort of the ride has to be there for her. I've spent hours researching and i have read everything from these are perfect daily drivers to " need to sell as the ride is too firm"... so i guess it comes down to personal satisfactory limits. there is a local scca autocross in town, but thats only a few times a year, and i'll be driving this daily. So reliability, user friendliness, and warranty and comfort are key. I will not "slam stance" my 2. I have pretty much made up my mind but throwing this thread out there just to see if somebody mentions something i may have missed.

I have the Billie's. Don't let your wife drive it for the first 100 miles or so until they loosen up a bit. The first 5 miles were brutal. LOL

Drop the tire pressure a couple pounds just before she drives it the first time. If the roads aren't 'choppy' there will be little difference from stock.

The ride will be a little different than stock but I don't find it harsh.. Hopefully your wife won't get perturbed over "different".

Even if it is too firm she'll get over it. thanks for the reply. the bilsteins are the cheapest right now. Please vote everybody!

How about the Eibach springs? I know they're not adjustable or as good as coilovers but I've been running them for about 20k miles and love them. Cheap, reasonably comfortable, and just about the right ride height and stiffness for daily driving with occasional track use.

It was an option but I've decided to invest in some coilovers. The 3 up there are readily available... but if I can find some tanabes at a good price... I'll take a blind shot at those.

See if you can find out the spring rates those 3 are using. That could also help your decision. I voted ST, mainly since I don't think I've ever heard a negative comment about any KW coilovers.

I don't think anyone has posted about the ST's yet. So the only problem is not knowing what you get. They don't mention lowering specs or spring rates. Out of the 3 the H&R are my favorite because they can go more than 1.75" which happens to be Bilsteins max.

The springs are progressive, I emailed them about it. They did say that the valving is exactly the same as the KW V1 though. I have been trying to find a Dyno sheet for the V1.

You mean these lowering specs for the ST? http://www.tirerack.com/suspension/...oModel=Mazda2&autoYear=2011&autoModClar=Sport
I won't vote since I have no personal experience with any of these on a 2. We all know you can't go wrong with any of them. If it were me, I'd get the Bilsteins because they are the only ones that have dampening adjustability, and since this is mainly a DD for you, that's what I would suggest for you as well.

Ohhhh nice find. I was looking at ST's website and couldn't find anything.
Also says they are backed by a 5 year limited warranty. So that's a huge plus.
Now if only someone could report on the ride quality.

I think corksport misadvertised their set of bilsteins. The bilsteins that fit our cars are the B14, which are height adj only. the bilstein pss9 and 10 are height and dampenening adj., different setup, different price.

so after hours and hours and hours of going around different forums, it seems I can't go wrong with any of the 3. the h&r's even on other forums.. are said to be a bit rough ( high spring rates?)... the kw (st's) seem neck and neck with the bisteins and upon the many hours of research, i found them at within $70 of each other, both under 900 shipped. Now that i've narrowed it down to bilstein and st's (although the project h&R 2 is sexy), i've noted that the bistein uses a monotube design, which is apparently better (tho not sure if it makes a difference on such a light car) while the st's are twin tube design and come with helper springs. this would lead me to believe that the st's would be more comfortable during daily driving while the bilsteins would be better at higher speed turns. It also seems that the st's go lower (not really a priority) and both have good warranty and are serviced here in the U. S. if need be. I found NO reviews of the st's on a 2, but have found some good reviews of the bislteins. so that's where i'm at.

Well. If your concerned about daily driving due to your wife driving then ride quality is high on the list of requirements, where as the cornering is going to greatly improve regardless of which Coils you get. Being the first to buy and review something is always difficult. You could try calling around and see what the vendors say about them. Worth a shot.

Well since the Bilstein info appears to be wrong on CS' site, and the STs have helper springs, I would choose ST. Helper springs are great for comfort. Some idiots take them out so they can do the hellastoopid, I mean hellaflush, look. Hell, maybe I'll get rid of my Eibachs and grab a set of these STs someday soon.

I've had KSports on my 2 for a couple of weeks and I'm quite happy with them. The early ksport stuff seems to be garbage but these have been great. I think they may be slightly higher than your price range tho. Adjustable damping as well as height.

This photo of the ST coilovers is more representative of the actual mazda2 kit than the one shown on trierack , there appears to be no "helper" springs on the mazda2 kit . Now somebody buy these and tell us how they ride .
