coil overs or springs?

thats hard to tell --- i have had my car since september and have not lowered it yet do to the fact --- that everyones opinion about ride quality and comfort varies from person to person -- there is a thread in here some where that might help -- it lists some of the spring rates of companies -- i found this very usefull -- i almost have my mind made up --- so good luck to you

here it is -- http://www.msprotege.com/vbb300/showthread.php?t=58798&page=3&pp=15

go with Goldlines, Tein S-tech, Eibach sportline, or Sprint for 2" or near it...Dont worry bout coilovers unless yo got at least a grand for real ones. ;)

Does this guy have a Protege or a P5? Just want to know because, last I checked, they didn't make a sportline kit for the P5. If you have a P5, goldlines are apromx. the same thing, and will give you a 2" drop. Talk to SlamdP5: he has Goldlines on his P5.

Yea unless your gonna get real coil overs I would stay away from them and go with springs. Coil overs imo are very bouncy. I know alot of people that have them in there car and I hate the ride with them.

Yes, defintely the Goldlines. My first attempt at a drop was with skunk2 coilovers and that was a horrible mistake. Goldlines to me are identical to the eibach sportlines. Even though they don't list making sportlines for the P5 they will still work. I have put a set of Goldlines on my p5, and 99 es sedan and both sets were identical. I have also put a set on an 04 corolla. Definetly a good spring choice(2thumbs)

hmmm
i don't know about the 2" ride,
but i know the MP3 springs, "racingbeat"
are pretty good.
not as low ofcrouse
but the ride is as good as stock in comfort.
but, again, if you are looking for the 2" lowering
listen to the fellas
if you change you mind, i highly suggest looking into the 'beats.

Hows the ride quality with the goldlines? Would you need a camber kit with these springs?

i would go with goldline springs. i have them on my msp. the ride is wonderful and handleing is better then stock. i didn't need a camber kit but you my need one. the springs are like 150 and both front and rear camber kits are like 50 bucks. go to www.goldlineonline.com if you have any questions.

thanks justin h

I have the sprint springs on my p5 now and ive had to call those idiots at sprint several times because ive had coil bind up front the rear only came down about an inch had them send me a new set of springs still have the same problem, so I called them like two days ago and got their dick head engineer on the phone the guy was a complete **** head if he was in front of me at the time i would have punched him in the throat.
DO NOT USE SPRINT imo they suck.
