rental laws varies state to state
true... you should call ahead and ask what rental car agency they use and then call the rental car place and see if they'll allow you to get a car, so that you don t get stranded

i'm pretty sure maryland law is 21 and older to rent. Anyways I'm gonna throw the stock air box on tuesday and swing by and see what they say.

Well mazda ****** me just like I knew they would. First off they charged me for some BS diagnostics even though I have the 100k warranty. Then they wouldn't replace the part for free they wanted $400 dollars in labor to replace a 40 dollar part. Its time like this I wish I had bought a Honda.... All I know is I'm pissed beyond belief right now this is complete bulls***.

EDIT: Unfortunatley after looking at my warranty what is broken isn't actually covered. Still a 2005 shouldn't be breaking yet.

they said some pvc hose. I doubt its the problem but I don't want them touching my car if they think taking the intake out is hard.

wtf... how is it not covered under warranty... i am at a loss here man. sorry to hear it...

yeah thats exactly what i said. If it fixes the problem then I'll be happy. On another note how do you change the pcv valve?

that sucks dude, whats broken on your ride? I just got my car back from the dealer yesterday, I took it there with 49,394 miles on it and they replaced for free underwarrenty my:

wastegate
mass air flow sensor
primary 02 sensor
several vac lines
s-pipe and turbo manifold gaskets

try taking it to another dealer man, or just argue more with them, I've never had a problem with the warrenty on my ride and I've had a laundry list of s*** done to my ride

yeah aparently hoses aren't covered under the waranty. I'm gonna try replacing the hose and either taking it back to rosenthal in arlington or finding another dealer nearby that isn't fitzgerald.

does anyone know if I can buy the pcv hose online? The guy at the dealer who said he was gonna order it actually didn't (big surprise).

if your car is under the bumper to bumper warranty, then you shouldn't have to pay s***

it's not a ******* PCV hose and the ******* part shouldn't take all day to replace! the s*** can be swapped out in 10 mins!

YOU need to call mazda and report this s***, then you need to talk to the service manager at that bad ass dealer and get them to refund you for something you should've have paid for!

there IS a TSB for this problem and those fuckers either don't know about it or don't care

this s*** IS covered under warranty and they HAVE to fix it
http://www.protegefaq.net/tsb/01-025-05.html

and this isn't mazda's fault.... it's that DEALER'S fault... mazda has no direct control over what they do because they don't own that dealer, the assholes there do

oh and they can either waste more time by *properly* fixing it by testing the valve first to see if it's OK or they can just STFU and replace the ******* part... they're getting paid for the part AND replacing it anyway, why should it matter to them?

Hey TheMAN thats good information right there. I agree with you and mobomelter you should print this info and bring it to them. Tell them that if they dont refund you your money you will report them to MNAO and BBB or something.
Let us know how it goes

yeah i think i might just take it to where i bought it because fitzgerald aparently doesn't care about thier customers. I would take it back with that piece of paper but honestly I'm so pissed right now that if I went back they'd probably throw me out for the s*** I'd give them. If anyone lives in maryland DO NOT go to Fitzgerald of Annapolis.

Edit: I forgot to add that I am not under the 50k warranty anymore but I am under a 100k warranty that is from Mazda Usa. If you guys want I can scan it and you can see if that should be covered. I am at a loss right now because fitzgerald won't help me.

it's your responsibility to inform whatever dealer you go to that you have MEPP because it might not show up on their computer easily... it will NOT show up in the vehicle's warranty report either (which you don't see)
