Hi

I am installing a cobb sri, and I am having a hell of a time removing the plastic 90 degree elbow from the accordion rubber hose. I know I have to pinch the hose clamp with pliers, but I need another 2 hands to remove the elbow. It will not budge!!! What is a good technique of pinching the hose clamp, and "working out" the elbow. I am afraid of damaging the hose above it. They sure do not give you much room to work. Can anyone please help?

wait, can you elaborate a little bit? Do you still have one hand on the pliers holding down the clamp?

Oh that part...Yeah, I just pinched it with my free hand, slipped in the flat head, and it came right off. I kept reading all this noise about it taking forever and getting your hands all cut up. Entire process took me about two minutes.

ya its a pain! u can actually take the elbow off the other hose. theres like two blue clips u push and its come off. then take the accordian hose off with it attached and itll be alot easier to get out.

haha no prob man. trust me i sat there for about 30 mins tryin to get it out and was so scared to break it. i was sweatin and everything. and then i realized after the two clips haha glad it worked.

I was so paranoid about breaking that elbow I had my buddy pinch and I wiggled it for about 20 minutes little by little until it came out!!!

Having repressed the experience, I vaguely recall intermittent fits of cussing, profuse sweating, scraped knuckles, WD-40, and vise clamps. I also feared breaking the 90 degree elbow. Eventually, I just carefully cut the hose off. Now, all is well. BTW, make doubly sure the air filter is tightly clamped.

I ended up doing the same thing. Cut the old hose off because I got so pissed at it.

Sucha tough time. Especially after reading how easy it would be I decided to do it myself. Had to call a friend for this particular part.
