Cobb intake question

I just installed a Cobb intake yesterday. I current have a 3" exhaust from the dp back, a turboxs recirc valve and the intake. Until yesterday it ran fine, but after installing the intake it seems to now bog down in low rpms. And barley goes until I'm around 3k. When before it would just go. I don't have the money at this point in time for a tune, or a handheld tuner ( which I plan on getting next). Is this the result of the intake?

Yup. Disconnect the negative cable and keep it off for about 20 minutes or so. Do you still have the stock air box? if so then reinstall it and see if cobb intake is problem.

I be thinking you manged the mass air flow sensor, if so, the return of the stock airbox will not cure the issue. The Cobb SRI is notorious for its explosive low end power delivery (I had one so, I know) so, if that isn't there, something is awry.

i have a stock speed6 that i just bought.. if i ONLY put a COBB intake on the car and thats my only mod will i have any problems?? If so what else should i get to illuminate the problems.. also if i get intake arent i technically supposed to get the car dynod because its changing the fuel/air mixture??? thanks.

No you will not have any problems, handle the MAF like its an egg since many people tend to damage them during installs. I would get a Dashawk to monitor the engine as well. I think your confusing dynoed with tuned. with an sri you wont need a tune, the ecu will compensate for the extra air, just be sure to reset it after you install the intake. but a tune will get more power from the intake when compared with the stock tune.

how would i reset the ecu? ive never installed an intake before and i dont feel like paying some tuner shop $90 an hour to put and intake on wrong or damage it. or do you think i should just pay someone to do it considering ive never done it before?

disconnect the battery for 10-15 minutes, an intake is real easy to install, just go over all connections 3 times and make sure everythings snug and tight

Personally, I had quite a few problems with my SRI until I got the AccessPort. I think if you drive aggressivley often, you will need a tune, otherwise you will get some nasty fuel cut during wide open throttle.

If you don't go WOT often, you probably wouldn't have any problems with the COBB SRI (aside from that annoying battery bracket breaking from engine movement- just secure it with some zip ties). Just remember to downshift instead of getting on it at a low RPM in 5th, otherwise your car will buck and you will have trouble merging lol!

I love my SRI though, the noises it makes are fantastic, and power is obviously increased.

Yes, just take the neg. terminal off the battery, hit your brake pedal until you discharge stored voltage, wait a minute and put it back on.

Most likely it'll relearn what's going on with the new intake, and if not, you're probably looking at a damaged MAF sensor.

Any reason why you posted in the MS3 section when you have an MS6?

i didnt even know this was an MS3 section till i read your post.. so no, no particular reason.. just by accident.
