Cobb AP question

Cobb has their maps out for the AP on the MS3. Say I start getting a fuel cut so I upgrade my fuel pump and spark plugs. Will these pieces even though they are not listed affect the car negatively?

Also I was going to get an upgraded TMIC but they do not have a map for just their intake and TMIC upgrade. Should I run just the map for the SF intake? Thanks.

An upgraded fuel pump and colder spark plugs (Denso ITV22) are recommended by Cobb for their maps actually but no negative affects.

For $175 you can get Cobb to build you a custom-tune over e-mail specific to your car ... you send them datalogs from the AP and they send you a tune ... you repeat until both of you are happy.

Really? I didn't know you could do that! That's pretty awesome. What if you get a new part latter and you've already payed the 175... Will they give you a new tune at no cost?

Are there any publicly posted maps for catless dp/rp? Would Cobb do a custom tune for that setup if there are no posted maps for catless exhaust?

the cobb ap already has enough default maps according to what mod's you have. paying 175 for a map is foolish.

road/dyno tuning is the only SAFE way to go IMHO. The off the shelf maps are a good start if you can't get it properly tuned by a good tuner, but I wouldn't go that route if I had an AP.

Actually the OTS Maps from Cobb are all for Catted DP's with some back pressure. Those running catless DP's have had issues with over boosting. Thus with the AP you need to tweak the tune for a non-catted DP or you might over boost.

im havin the same prob, i couldnt even run the right map for my car cause the car ran so bad.. for ur car to run perfect u need sum kind of fuelpump mod and mayb sum kind of boostcut defender.. im doin pump internals then gettin a ligit tune.. cobb came out with the software not to long ago so tuners can tune em.. =]

I actually haven't had any real issues with my catless dp and the Cobb AP. I did recently add the fuel pump internals and got a tune just to make sure everything was running safely.

Yea they do have one with an upgraded TMIC but you also have to have a catted DP as well (doesn't make sense to me why they wouldn't have one with just intake and TMIC). So you could run just the SF Intake map, and whenever you get a DP, switch to the new map.
