Cobb AP Discussion Thread

True. I had no problems holding 18 on my forge and the needle didnt flutter at all. Looks like im back to forge. First ill run a pressure test to see the max it can hold.

i mean even i would think that the stock bpv cant handle more than 16psi of boost properly, aftermarket versions are made with real parts, not chinese food tupperware grade plastic.

its the difference between a harmonica and a kazoo

Not true from what I've seen from personal experience ... got the stock BPV on and it handles 19-20 psi fine.

Hey guys, i just got an AP, i am running the Stage 1 Fucai 93 map. Only mods are Fujita CAI and forge BPV. I datalogged a bit today but don't have a program to put it into a graph. So i was wondering is it normal for the boost to spike up to 20 to 21 PSI? also my LTFTs are like 3 at cruising, 5 while WoT and AFR between 11.5 to 11.8. Is that where i need to be or is that unsafe? knock retard is always 0. Thanks

Ok. Back to stage 1 93 +SF. I was seeing WAY to much kr. Im talking 5.6 at WOT. Even with low BAT's. LTFT's are much cleaner now with the testpipe.

Was just wondering, how accurate is the 1/4 mile testing feature on the AP. Has anyone ever tested it at the track?

Cobb AP Question

I know ive read this somewhere but I couldn't remember. Would take me ages to search for the answer.

Anyway 1st question is : Does the cobb ap only "kick in" when your WOT (or near WOT) ??

2nd Question: How long does it take for your car to "learn" the flash?? Is it instant?

3rd Question: If the 1st Q is true than I think this is self explanatory but does the AP have any potential long term effects? You are obviosly keeping the throttle plate open longer but would that hurt its long term life expectancy in any way? Med school is expensive and I want this car to last me at least 70K miles.

I just started running AP last weekend. To my knowledge, and from what it feels like, the entire map is changed not just WOT.

as for learning, I drove about 200 miles this past week and I would say somewhere around 80-100 miles the car smoothed out a bunch. not sure if that was just me.

it usualy takes about 100 miles for the car to learn the "flash". i would just keep an eye out for your ltft and kr.

about to get one of these.. my mods are FMIC, CAI, Cobb TIP, 3 inch custom exhaust still has stock cat in downpipe... what map should i run?? i was thinking Stage 2 93 + FMIC or should i run a Stage 1 map. i have alot to learn about the technical stuff but im up for the challenge

Qwik, what's your spring setup for the Forge? I'm running blue with no shims right now, but I might switch it to a yellow +1 when the AP arrives.

Steve what do you have on there? I am stock right now as I havent had a chance to get my TIP and SRI on yet, I am running yellow+1 on the stock 93 program. Just from feel, I am pretty sure I'll need the blue spring once I throw the other goodies on and go to the +sf 93 program. either that or Ive got a vacuum leak somewhere and the forge isnt holding right (possible due to the bad OEM hose clamps).

Just got mine last night and put the Stage 2 91 v100 on it. Uploaded some new maps and got a few more I want to try. Apparently the AP manager doesn't like my Vista64 machine.
