cobb access port question

yeah that looks like it was running REALLY lean... of course I am used to looking at 2 stroke plugs. definitely not rich though.

(two stroke plugs are always blacker, because they burn oil too)

In a car that runs this rich, with your reader telling you the afrs are correct, one cylinder looking that lean would have me checking my injector for that cylinder.

I'm just saying that $700 for 10 hp and 20 tq is gay. I can bump psi by 1 and get almost the same thing. with a reflash said:
No spending $2000 on cams, hondata ecu, CAI, Race header, custom cattless exhaust on my old 2006 Si and gaining only 20hp is the GAYEST BY FAR!!!
$700 on somthing that adds 20whp with just tuning and basically no extra mods is pretty ******* good!! not to mention when you do the cobb AP on a MS3 with CAI, CDFP, DP and exhaust im positive it will gain even more. Im gonna get the AP as soon as i have an extra $700 fo shizle

Cobb AP is a load of bull so far i`m sorry. You get double the power from a PG manifold for 500usd.

got mine in today two bad i have to go into work and cant play with it yet, cough hay boss i think im sick today.

people are claiming 25 whp from just a mazdaspeed cold air intake. last time I checked, they were a little less than $700. Just sayin.

I will probably consider buying this when the tuning software comes out and they have some sort of package deal for both. I am hoping they will do that.

Exactly (I can't believe I'm agreeing with you), for guys who are heavily into modding, once the software comes out, this thing will be a godsend. For most of us, too much money for too little gain. As I pointed out before, the map for use with an intake gains as much as the intake alone (eyeballs), but has significant "drivability" improvements. For $700 with minimal power gain (the top end extension into higher rpms is the best power improvement on this map) those better be amazing drivability improvements.
I've got their rear sway bar, and will be getting their springs eventually, but this one I'm staying away from.

As i said, unless an electronic tuning product worth 700usd gives at least 40-50hp to a turbo charged car that is already 260hp stock, then it is not worth 700usd end of discussion.Open it up again when there are convincing or rather significant gains like 50hp to the wheel. No point playing around with the ECU for a flimsy 10-15hp.:-)

"playing around" with the ecu for most FI cars is one of the most effective way to make power. You could make GOBS of power on a dsm with an intake and good tune.

Now, am I going to spend $700 on an ap for 15 wheels horsepower.... nope. I completely agree with you, just make the point that a tune can do wonders for power, economy, and engine life.

With more thought I realized that this isn't entirely fair. I completely disregarded the other features of the device, like monitoring the engine, reading and resetting codes, etc. It still isn't enough to get me to spring $700 for it, but it isn't the bad joke I originally implied.
I still don't believe I agreed with sleeper though.

I wanted these capabilities, so I got a dashhawk shipped for $250. Plus, you can set warnings, shift lights, etc. I LOVE mine. I use it mainly for AFR, boost, and as a shift light staggered to 4 (for semi-spirited driving), 5.5, and 6k rpms.

But if you are looking for something with less bells and whistles, the scangaugeII is under $200 and shares a lot of features.
