2006 Mazdaspeed 6
Im at a loss. i just picked up a '06 mazdaspeed 6 this past weekend. It has 84k miles and everything is great but the tranny.
when driving in 1st (10 to 25mph) and I let off the gas and push in the clutch to shift to 2nd and the engine is still at matching tranny rpm. Ill have the clutch to the floor rev the motor and the car still acts like it wants to pull a little. When giving more revs it shakes the hell out of the car.
When going 50mph I try to go to a lower gear and I feel like the clutch is doing nothing and to get it to down shift (double clutch--using no clutch using the rpm to match the transmission speed) is the only way I can get it into a lower gear.

However, while sitting still the clutch works normal. The clutch does not slip while giving full throttle and the car pulls great.
What could be wrong? I need advise. There is no warranty because this was bought from an individual.
Thanks

i seem to have this problem too sometimes, maybe slightly different. there are times when I'm shifting it just feels like it doesn't want to go in gear, like i am pushing against a wall but sometimes double clutching helps, sometimes it doesn't. about 90% of the time it shifts fine though so I don't know what it is. I don't want to take it to the dealer to find out it won't be covered under warranty and then I have to pay them, don't have the cash for that now, so I'll keep driving it.

I want to bleed my clutch line as maybe I have air or water in there and the clutch doesn't always get disengaged all the time. Let me know if you find out anything otherwise.

does yours still hold revs with the clutch to floor? I too tried bleeding the line too no change

update: could a bad motor/transfer mount cause some type of torque to keep it in a bind?

no mine doesn't hold the revs, just feels like it doesn't want to let go of the gear or sometimes go in the next one.

Perhaps a clutch adjustment? A while back I Adjusted my pedal and I pulled the "pin" that pushes the piston for the clutch to engage/disengage and it was acting weird so I put the pin closer and no problems since.
