Clunk/Rubbing Noise from Rear - have fix kit already

People replace the top strut mount because there were few cases where the strut busted through the top mount. I remember seeing a pic of this a long time back, and I know you can get a replacement mount from AWR:

I'll have to see if I can find that old pic of the strut busting through the top mount..

[Edit]- Also replaced, of course, because it is adjustable...

I can't for the life of me find that pic of the dude with the busted upper strut mount. I am pretty sure though that there was a guy whose rear passenger strut actually busted through the upper mount. I distinctly remember a pic of it...

Maybe it was posted in the "What have you done to your P5 today" thread- but I am not going to search through 1000+ pages for that pic...

Well yea I understand why you would replace the mount. I had that happen to an eclipse I owned. But why do I find mentions of MP3 and MSP owners replacing it with the P5 mount as opposed to the MP3 or MSP mount. both are OEM rubber (I'm assuming)

I think I know what picture you are talking about. Didn't the back dash pop up on the left side from the strut mount breaking?? If I remember right, it was a sunlight silver MSP.

That I am not sure about. MP3 and MSP's would have Tokico Blue HP struts, while the P5 has non-Tokico struts. Given that the HP's will mount up on the P5 without issue- I have no idea what could be gained there...

Ok well I'm going to start pulling them apart in the next few nights so I may bring one in to work and we can go take a look and compare. We'll post pictures.

On another note where can you find the anti-clunk fix it kit? And what is it exactly? Is it just the sway bar attachment relocation thing?

Lol I like this, "Tired of changing your Protg bushings? SAVE TIME & MONEY!" Ok it may save time. but even if every 6 months you had to change them.. at 15 bucks a time it would take a LONG time to equal $215.

Ahhh I don't know if it's these awful Michigan roads or what, but it seems like I never stop having suspension problems. I replaced both rear strut mounts a couple months ago and it 100% solved my awful rubber stretching/rubbing noise that happened with any movement of the suspension (including just sitting in the car). Everything has been fine since then but for the past week I've been getting a very similar sound again from the rear right, it sounds like rubber stretching/rubbing. The main difference is that now the noise only occurs when the suspension has to adjust to a bump or unevenness in the road. Is it possible it's that strut mount that was just replaced or could it be the coilover/strut, or something else completely?

because the P5 ones are stronger due to more rear weight.

you guys should also try shimming the nut on the top of the strut. that solved my main problem after getting new strut/springs, and the clunk fix bar. I just used washers.
