Clicking sound?

Ok so when I am about to take off in my car from a stop I am hearing a clicking sound comeing from the engine bay. when I press on the gas and take off from a stop I could hear the sound. What is this sound that I am hearing?

Does it increase in speed with engine RPM? It could be a number of things. First thing I'd do is check your oil level. You could be hearing the valve lifters, or you could have a small exhaust leak at one of your gaskets. Hope it's nothing more serious than that.

I hear a clicking on cold mornings, but I'm pretty sure it's the heater fan. Could this be what you're hearing? You could try turning off the HVAC and see if it goes away.

Otherwise it may just be the lifters that you're hearing as it takes a little longer for the oil to circulate when it's cold out.

i hear a similar noise but it comes from the rear of the car. especially when i am making a turn from a stop.

I am not sure WTF that sound is but it is makeing me upset.
I took the car in for another problem twice and they still did not fix it right.
Now I have to take the car back to get fixed again and for them to check out what this sound is man am I mad.

i have the same sound from the front of the engine bay , i added some more oil and for some reason it went away , i dont know if thats yalls problem , but yeah just wanted to let you know .

I have a complaint about my car - probably not the same thing: I get a loud "ringing" noise as my RPMs approach 2500ish. Passenger-sided, most noticable with the windows down, hood closed.

I have been told it is the high-pressure mechanical fuel pump. I can hear it in other MZR cars, but it is MUCH LESS noticable.

There is a TSB out there for some kind of valve actuator thingy. Search it out, it may give you some direction.

Just my $.02

high pressure pump is on drive side of engine anyways and it makes more of a clicking sound than a ringing.

i've had that ringing for the longest, though it worried me when I first started hearing it. Could it be the drive accessories?

I can hear it much more faintly on other MZR motored Speeds (6 & 3). However, I have never noticed any kind of decrease in performance.

I am not sure about the drive accessories - for me it seems to increase as RPMs climb. Once the motor is loud enough it drowns out the ringing.
