Click Click Click sound at 3000 RPM's

Hey everyone,

Let me describe my problem first and then see if anyone else experienced it.

I am driving in 4 through 6th gear below 3000 rpms and then I apply a medium amount of throttle to speed up to pass a car or go up hill for example.

As soon as my car reached 3000 i hear the very metallic Clicking sound and I loose a substantial amount of power. However, if you keep on the throttle the sound goes away and then the car progresses as normal with full power. Although the pull seems less.

Under spirited driving I can cross over 3000 RPMs all day like it was nothing. Its just the long pulls from 2500 past 3000.

Anyone else experience this?
Did you take it in to the dealer and recieve a solution?

A few simple guesses with limited turbo experince

1.) Waste gate opening and shutting rapidly resulting is lost boost and power?
2.) Small back firing? Doesnt sound anywhere near it.
3.) No idea!

My Speed was doing the same thing...it's your purge valve not opening correctly
and it will be covered under warranty.
Make sure your dealer gives you the newer revised version or you will keep having it occur...it did with mine.

it may be the octane of gas that you are using, if you use 89 or 87 the ms6 motor is not tunned for that it needs at least 91 or 93 octane, im no expert but try the highest grade fuel that you can get and see if it still makes that noise after a tank or two. if you are alredy using a high octane fuel then nevermind

My car is doing the exact same thing, did you have the purge valve changed? Did it make a difference?
