Clear corners for MP5

Well I just got my Celica fights tonight and
-they DON'T fit (too small, openings in bumper are exposed
-they weren't cheap
really annoyed. not sure what to do. I might cut a thin sheet of styrene plastic offset 2mm around the celica lights profiles and paint that plastic to match my car....

Think outside the box, my friend. Turn them upside down - they will fit perfectly and cover all the holes. :)

hehehe, trust me, I think outside the box... I've already tried them up-side-down... No-go.

And they didn't fit? You have the clear corners for the ~2001 era Celica? Strange. Hmmm... I'll have a session of outside-the-box thinking that doesn't include bondo...

Paging MacGyver.

Maybe I'm the only one, but I like the stock markers and think that the clear ones are ricey. Also, the quality of ebay lights leaves you wanting more, as they look cheap.

I'd rather get the MSP bumper than ebay corners.

Not all of them are ricey. There are clear corners that look like they were actually factory-issue...

This puts a bit of hope and faith back into my heart :)

I really like the look of my clear corners vs stock. With the chrome headlights, polished rims, and mica paint, it flows much better with the car than a random orange marker.

These are the ones I ordered. Ebay auction states Celica 00-05. Anyway, I modded the bumper with my dremel this afternoon. I managed to cover the existing holes in the bumper everywhere except a slot that is now exposed directly below the new lights. Monday I'll either create a thin plastic backing that will contour the shape of the light but drop lower to hide the slot (and painted to match my car color of course) or just fill the slot and paint it. In any case, it appears that my bumper had been previously re-painted, so I can make-out the outlines of the original clear lights. I'll post pics when I'm done. Love you.

I used the Celica ones.. and I didn't have to dremel anything out on my car.. (shrug)

Yeah, I know you guys use the Celica ones, so I don't know. I decided to keep the lights I bout and mod the bumper. I started today and took pics along the way to post here. Unfortunately, forecast calls for LOTS or rain theis week and I don't know when I'll be able to completely finish the install. So right now, I've got no lights installed with holes exposed (but taped closed from inside). BTW, iLisa, LOVE your P5. I looked long and hard at her when deciding what color to paint my calipers and which lights to buy. I opted for white lights rather than clear, and I bought orange paint for calipers, but might actually go with silver or black. Mine are naturally orange right now...unfortunately from rust!!

Here's what it looks like installed after dremelling the bumper a touch..

I hot-glued a thin sheet of styrene behind the opening and drilled a few holes into the edges of the opening and roughed-it-up using my dremel...
Also sanded the paint since the bumper was obviously painted previously. I started with 600 grit wet sand, then 1000, then 2000...

I taped the hole and used Bondo Easy Finish Bumper repair kit (found at Canadian Tire) to fill the gap between the tape and styrene strip. I peeled the tape 20 minutes later. There were a couple of air bubbles, but I mixed another dose of Bondo and feathered it into the holes....
