Clear Coat on our car .....

I was just wondering...I hear people say there is a clear coat on our P5's over the paint job........
So does that mean we don't have to wax our cars ??
And I HATE MAzDAS paint job !! its chipped already...
Since it chipped.....do I have to repaint it ??

clearcoat just means your paint will last longer. and dont blame mazda for the chips...thats what happens to cars unless you dont drive them. as for the not waxing, thats not true. if you want to keep your paint in tip top condition, a regimen of detailing will need to be done every now and then.

and as far as repainting it? well no...but go to your dealer and for a whopping $3.65 you can get a bottle of touch-up paint....if you get a chip....clean it good and use the touch-up paint.

I don't know about the not blaming Mazda part

Seriously though, I've driven a lot of different cars and I find that my MP3 has seemed to get a lot more little chips from daily driving than other vehicles. It does happen on every car, but I guess it's still frustrating no matter what.

I agree with bigblue (who I think I saw driving out of CDN Tire the other day), the Mazda does seem to have really thin paint (mentioned on another thread). However, I do complement them on the placement of the plastic door protector..I have a good gash on it on the passenger side...but the metal door is fine...probably just lucky though.
