Mo here

Looks good. I used NXT for the pictures of mine. Paint didn't need the bar though as I just got it. Which wax did you use, gold class, NXT, one of the professional line ones?

CT, I had read somewhere that a majority of these cars reach the east coast by railway and that there is a lot of metal dust from that trip. This dust tends to embed itself in the paint of new cars. The best time to clay bar is when it's new. However, I am not very smart and may have fallen for a bit of web lore.

Yep, that's true, however theres white plastic all over the car when enroute. I felt the paint before deciding whether or not to proceed claying and it still felt smooth as glass, so I just NXT'd the crap out of it. The results were impressive enough, but I don't get the same glow I got outta my mustang with the stuff. I need to find a wax that really brings out the blue.

cool

My car had s*** all in the paint. I clay barred the hood and roof (say it: RUF) 3 or 4 times before it was perfectly smooth.

Side note, for all yous complaining about brake dust...wax your wheels. I'd say mine has been cut in half since doing that.

oh, for the wax, I used what came in the mequire's kit. I was Mequire's cleaner wax or something along those lines. I've used it before on my Triumph. It's pretty easy to apply and remove, and seems to work well.

Just tape...pretty easy to get them off from what I have read on the web. :P

Awesome. I'm gonna check into takin those off. It'll add somethin to my car by takin somethin away. Am I the only one that likes that philosophy?? Haha.
