ok guys and gays, iv been thinking real hard lately........ and i have decided against boosting my car...... i know i know i know BUT iv decided to sell everything i have accumulated so far and if all goes well, get my car running GREAT as an N/A

idk IMO i feel like people that modify their cars now a days are just buying parts, putting them on, which is cool, but i wanna do more involved stuff, wire tuck, interior, stance work s***, so thats what im going to do, hopefully sell all my parts and get a nice set of wheels, pullies, possibly a unique custom header of sorts. but anyway i just know im not boostin. its gonna be low and slow for me, lol

so i took measurements today of my strut clearance, and used that cool offset calculator online and went wheel searchin...

i have a 17x7 +40 offset right now, and i have apprx. 23-25mm of clearance to the strut.

and iv been looking at various wheel sizes like:

17 x 8 +30

and 17x9 +35

which yes i know would poke about an inch, the 17 x 9 clearance according to the offset calculator would be 20mm less/closer, which is cuttin it REAL close, imo. which would mean spacers to feel comfortable with the fitment.
OR
the 17x 8 +30
which would poke about half an inch but move the wheel only 3 mm closer, much better imo......

but damn it would be sick to get a 9 in there, and have an effective offset of +30,

either way im tryin to accomplish some minimal poke :)

these are the only two i like so far that come in those sizes, i reaaaaly want something concave, any suggestions?
 
i like wheel 1..... n boooooo on not boostin lol.. the darkside is the way to go lol ;) u gonna make a for sale thread?? i wana see what ya got
 
yea man i constantly see my bro working out some kink in his car , and hes way more mechanically inclined when it come to the engine bay than i am, and i know if i go boosted ill have problems but i might not even realize it, so im goin with the reliability, im not sayin im NEVER gettin boost, lol just not until i have a better hand on what IM doing, lol

huh? those look real cool actually......... iv always looked at the advans for the three spoke, but thats not half bad...... what was the clearance to the strut??
 
THOSE arn't 522s, those are Work Equips. Strut clearance was super close but if it clears, it clears. These are 522s

damn....those are nice too! so with the rim, there is absolutely no play or anything? even with suspension play if im on the road and take a dip as my suspension compresses, wont the wheels camber slightly? which means if they do, a little adjustment of the camber towrds the strut could possibly connect with it? or do i have that all wrong?
