epic fail. you need the threaded sleeve and purches. I hope your not running those. Theres no way thats safe.

pleeeeeeease never use the word "epic" or "fail", in my thread, i fuking hate those words, lol

and kauai, thats prob not the best way to run them, but seeing as the bottom of the spring as around the strut housing its possible that if you hit a bump quick enough the spring could shift back and forth, i cant see it breaking anything, but never having the spring in the same angle, if it shifts at all, to the top of the strut might put excess wear on the spring and def the strut itself.

why wont the sleeve fit over?

the sleeve doesnt fit over the strut, even after removing the cap...

i see your point
i may have to put my lowering spring back on lol

my reasoning was that it was equivalent to coils with removed perches
but i can see why thats not totallly true
so now i guess the issue is the seating of the spring?

yea, if you look at the perch that comes with the sleeve, its prob fitted directly to the spring, which stops it from moving around. i was gonna do the same thing u just did, but came to the conclusion i just told you, lol

and its weird the sleeve doesnt fit, sure the product is protege specific?

i ordered the set
the guy later told me tey ran out of the sleeves
so they had to pick um up from another company
then they sent me these

my first attempt to install them failed
the company said that i had to remove the cap

this was my second attempt to install them

Yeah, there 2" sleeves which is exactly whats in skunk2's and ground controls. I know several E30 owners use these plus hypercoils and have great results

so... there isnt really anything that bad about what im doing...? i mean, if i hit a bump hard, i wont NOT check it out.

unless theres a legitimate argument against it, i dont see why its that bad.

i feel like somethings wrong, but i cant figure out what it is lol

nothings wrong but its just not as sturdy as it could be

akis that link justfor the spring, or is it the whole sleeve set up? and would u know the height and spring rate of the spring? cuz thatd pretty damn cheap i might cop that of it can make me lower lol

The thing is your struts have lower seat designed for 5" springs. Not 2.5". This there isnt a proper seat for the spring.

Those are for the whole kit, but all you want is the sleeves. Those coils are junk. Do not use them.

this is the sleeve i have, that doesnt fit
