Made my way down to Houston last weekend and Charles and I took the time to snap some pictures. Unfortunately my camera battery died shortly after arriving at the bay so the pictures are pretty mundane.

That is awesome, but why are you using the stock airbox? Is is because this ram air gives you more power, or you dont like the open element filter sound, or what? I is curious....

Why not use the stock airbox? Changing to an open element won't make anymore power and the plastic box is a cooler environment.

Didn't know that. The MS3 brought me into the mazda community, I am used to honda/acura. I know it frees up TONS of power for the disi, but guess not for the protege.

Yup, i was rockin the stock airbox for the first 2 years i owned my MSP.....no real need for an aftermarket intake unless your going for the bling factor. Which in my case i eventually did, cause of the fmic pipes

And i cant see the pics, sux....workplace computer is blockin dat shiet.

Taking ova Tejas!

Didn't make a DIY on the headlight but...
-Separate the headlight housings and remove the turn signal
-Take 2.5" holesaw and pop a hole into the front housing
-Put housing together and drill through the back housing
-Clean out, deburr and seal housings together
-Grind 2.5" tube to fit contour of front housing
-Lay thin bead of silicone around hole in front housing
-Attach high temp brake duct hose between airbox and headlight

Just make sure you drill in the correct spot

I bought a set of headlights for ~$50, hole saw for ~$5, and had tubing and ducting laying around. I really only use the headlight at the track to help with air temps during 20+min sessions, but laziness has gotten the best of me and I haven't changed it back to the OEM light.

Nice, seems pretty straight forward. Definitely pretty cool and much better than just removing the headlight like the supra guys do.
