Chick with an audio question

W7 and W6 are clearly out of the price range for the sub and the amplifier.
Either driver should have an amp that is about 2x what she is looking to spend on an amplifier.
Also about 90% of the people with W7s have them setup completely wrong and have absolutely no midbass to support them.
For a common installation, a W3 will blend better into a basic system.

wow, ok... lol. i do believe this has answered most of my questions/problems... i will be having one of my experienced buddies hook it up, not me... lol. ok, so i should probably go with the 2ohm w3 than? yeah, i'm not going to limit myself to a $300 amp... i realized that :) as far as power goes, i dont want to blow out my windows... like 1sty said, i just basically want a "basic system"- more bass... lol. i know what sub i want, i'm just still stuck on the amp :( i will take all of this info with a grain of salt and definitley use it, no doubt- so i really appreciate you guys helping me out. somebody just tell me what to get, lol

Like I said, if money is no problem, get the JL 500 monoblock. I don't think anyone would disagree that this is a great amp....just expensive. It is very robust and may be a bit complicated, lots of features that some amps do not have, but if someone is helping you that should not be a problem. Once it is set up, that is about it....unless you like tweaking it occasionally.
Personally I like companies that specialize, like JL, Alpine, Eclipse...they only make car audio/video and that's it. Not like Pioneer, Sony, etc that make everything electronic wise. Stay away from crap like Jenson, Duel or any other oddball company that sells stuff excessively cheap....because it is cheaply made. Ask your friend's opinion if he/she is hooking it up for you.

JL Audio A1400. It is al the amp that sub needs and a bit more for fun.
The sub is reccomended for 300 watts RMS of power.
The 500/1 is overkill in my opinion.

If you would also like yo power your door speakers then I would do an A6450. Which will be fantastic to power all of the speakers in your car including your subwoofer.

This is a common problem I see everyday but it has a simple solution. FOCAL!!!! It fixes the problem everytime. Time correction and phase also can fix just got to know how the subs really work. I guess people hate reading.
