Check your endlinks:The "clunking issue" PIC

About 2 months ago I started hearing a clunking like rattle in the rear. I figured it was my shocks going bad or something and didn't really look into it until a week ago. I peeked under the rear and to my surprise the nut on my driver side end link was missing and I could freely move it around. I then went to Mazda to get a new nut,which I had to special order for 2$. I took my car in to get some basic service done when the nut arrived and was going to have them throw it on.
I got a call from the service guy and he said the bolt was stripped and they couldn't get the nut on. All that clunking was the end link bolt bouncing around in its hole. $110 later they replaces the whole end link(rant).

Yup, those things tend to wear out REALLY quick, especially with an aftermarket sway bar. I replaced mine with the upgrades available on PG and have been really happy so far (I did have to tighten up all the nuts a few times in the beginning though)

hmmm that's interesting, I'm assuming you are running a aftermarket RSB?

a simple fix is to go the hardware store and replace he bolts with nylon locking bolts. it keeps them from coming loose most of the time. I did that and have had no problems afterward.

I'm hearing a clink on mine sounds like front and rear I checked my endlinks I got the ones from HKPRO5 and they're fine I have the stock sway bars but tokico blues were installed about 2 mo ago what do you think it could be

I use Lok-tite every time I mess with those things.

after a month after installin springs i heard a clunking over bumps and looked and sure enough mine was loose. i love this fourm thanks guys for posting these things

Well Nut came off again same side and of course I didn't catch it until the thread were smashed again. Dealer was nice enough to replace it for free since they were the ones to install it last. Made them locktite it this time, such a strange issue. All I do is commute on the freeway so it's not like I'm abusing it. Just wanted to bump this to remind people to check their endlinks.

Same exact thing happened to me a week ago. The sway bar stripped the thread so i couldn't retighten the nut. Fixed it with an aluminum spacer over the stripped portion and put the nut on the end where the threads were still in tact + lots of locktite.
