Check this out!

I don't think so. This is the model they based our MP3's on, isn't it?
Hmm... ALL I know is that I want that turbo in there. :D

I dont know what the differnece b/w the 1.8 and the 2.0 are. hopefully for us the 1.8 is a destroked version of the 2.0 b/c that what the MPS is based on. And the conversion of PS and HP is exact. so it wont even have 180 its gonna have 172 hp. they should have just made it off the 2.0 platform to compete with the wrx and the RSX. but with 172 its still going to be marginally underpowered. personally im jsut going to keep my mp3 NA. I enjoy working for performance. its more fun for me. which is what i did when i bought my TDI VW i had to work for power out of a Diesel that started off with 90 friggn hp.and i almost doubled the out put. but it took a lot of home made parts to do so.

Yep. The thing that puzzles me is that model had a turbo in it. And even looking at the picture you can see a bit of the intercooler. But if you talk to HKS they'll tell you that they don't "produce" parts for 2 liter Protege's or MP3's.

thats cause they dont...who knows how functional that car was...and how reliable. and it probably isnt in HKS's interest to pursue a kit for our cars...which sucks for us

also, everything in that car was probably one-off parts...so they wouldnt have them anyway, they only exist on that car

I bet you anything that its the same HKS car that they made for the '99 '00 shows. They probably just changed the front end by changing the fenders and what-not. Easy to do. Wah-lah you have a "NEW" show car. Looks exactly the same x-cept for the lights. At least thats what it looks like to me. :)

Is this the same car that was at the LA auto show a few years back...99'...maybe 00'? I remember seeing a modified protege...actually the whole "import thing" was in...many of the manufactures were showing "tuner" versions of their models with the help of some shops like AEM...

That moded protege really caught my eye...its only natural that I instantly went crazy for the MP3! :D

Sure...That would be sweet. Thanks :D

Hey Jeremy,

Yeah it's the same car. They just changed the front fenders, headlights and bumper from their old model.

O.K. my german is verry rusty even though I was in Austria in october. Anyhow I will give it a shot!!!!!
The Berlin auto show was enough of a reason for Mazda to show of what they can do to a 323 (Protege in north america) This project is close to the original. The 1.8 16v puts out 115hp.With the HKS turbocharger and the HKS CAI (and something about an air cooler)
it gets about 172hp at 6000rpm.
Also has an HKS stainless steel high flow exhaust.
7 secs to 100k and back to 0 trough 328millimeter front and 313mm reardisc brakes. With carbon brakepads and 4 cilynder
calipers. Tires and wheels 8j 225zr 18inch.
In the styling department you notice the skirts and wheelflairs, the rear spoiler keeps it fimly on the road.
That's my shot at the translation.
PLEASE no dissing my German.
O.K. I tried to find out how I can figure out what my mp3# of 250 in Canada is will someone that knows maybe tell me!!!!! ;)
