Check engine light for ect sensor...

So I have a cel for the engine coolant sensor. Long story short I swapped all the wiring from a donor car into my 99 so now it's a 2.0. with the coolant sensor plugged in the car runs for 2 mins then shuts off. Will not start until fully cooled off. My buddy came over with his scan tool and it says my sensor thinks the motor is at -5 when it's plugged its 105 here in texas. So that's not right. When I unplugged it the car runs starts and drives fine and most of all doesn't die. On the scan tool it says the coolant temp read by the ecu is 104 idk if that's just a base map??I replaced crank, cam, tps, iacv thinking that was the problem.I tested the voltage at the plug it's at 10.8 with key on isn't it supposed to be 5v?! So I swapped computers with a a known working one and the same thing happens still 10.8 volts at the ect plug. Any body have insight on this? The only thing left to replace between the computer and the sensor is the wiring harness. I'm thinking it's shorting with a 12v wire.

Did you swap the coolant sensor? Have you looked at a service manual to check what the sensor's output is supposed to be?

Of course. Output is supposed to be 5v and I have another protege to confirm also. And yes I've swapped sensor to the other car and it runs fine. The only thing I can think of is the wiring harness has a bad ground.
