Go figure. After a post of how i fell in love with my mazda the damn thing now has a check engine light. I likely blew a valve or something that recycles emissions from the exhuast.

Hey...maybe I can ask the dealer ship to throw in a supercharger for free eh? Maybe not...

Check the gas cap, if the light comes on again, take it to the dealer. There are numerous CELs which have corresponding TSBs and the dealer can diagnose it real quick. My car actually had a faulty gas cap which caused an intermittent CEL. They replaced the cap and all is good.

Yeap. Faulty seal around the cap. They gave me a toyota corolla for a day rental.

I feel so dirty....

the most common reasons are the gas cap, and the purge valve solenoid. they replaced my solenoid, all good now.
