Cheapest boost around

Well, I finally did it. I searched all over the net, looking for any info I could, asking all the experts I could find, and I finally found it.


Most of us here don't have $3000 to plunk down on turbo setups, yet we still wish there was some way to add forced induction cheaper. I'm not talking about the Tornado, we all know that's a piece of crap that will never work. It took the Ford Truck guys to finally come up with the easiest and cheapest way to get REAL FORCED INDUCTION without the hassle of cooler lines, oil leaks, and all the problems associated with turbo setups. Much cheaper, too, about $100 with all the parts.

oh, the leaf blower turbo is so old, we stuck one on my friend's pos car (1985 civic hatch!). lots of fun, i think painting the car was more fun than the car "boosted".

i know its just a joke, but why exactly wouldnt this work? i mean, all a turbo does is add air to the fuel mixture, right? does this just not provide anywhere near enough air?

its not boosting it... its not like its pressurising... its just like blowing air a lil faster

that looks like my 96 tbird i could identify that 4.6l motor anywhere. minus the leaf blower of course

Isn't the leaf blower an SVT option at the dealer?

Those little fans can't push the air into the cylinder head under pressure. Maybe the weight of the thing will help the front treads get a little more stick, but thats probably as far as it'd go.

For turbo kits, just look at buying stock parts off of other turbo cars.
