If you really want to raise your cruising rpm's and so forth I'll look into it... but it'll be rather unpleasant for daily driving etc... but I'll see if I can find the gear I'm thinking of and get info on it.

man this thread has taken off.

i've done 132mph in my car, and as far as i'm concerned i can get there so i dont need to do it again.

but back to the point at hand. my gear ratios are more like kooldino's. 7000-ish at 60mph in 2nd etc.

i run at 3500rpm at about 66-68mph i think (110kph). i'd love to get that down to 3000rpm

Keep in mind I KNOW the tach in the stock cars reads off... Twilight is your tach running off of the stock computer or off the microtech to an aftermarket gauge? That'd be the true test... see what the Microtech says in comparison to stock tach, and then re-verify your ratios.... I really think the stock tach and/or speedo are both off and that's why you guys get what you do.. I've had my checked and verified... but who knows...

Yes it has a very nice little display screen for all that stuff... it'll display AFR, water temp, air temp, voltage, rpm, throttle position, boost level, injection time and a bunch of other stuff.. I'll try to find a screenshot for you.

He did not have oliver forged rods... trust me.. my car spends a LOT Of time above 6 grand racingon the track... and it is quite content

so there is no problem holding the car above 6-6.5k with rods?


i have the cunningham rods out of the world challange protege's, i imagine they're going at 9k all day long.
i've always been frightened of throwing rods at the higher rpm. if im safe to hold it at redling for maybe a little bit, i'd be much less weary of my new internals..

I'm pretty sure it'll read about 200-300 above the MT.
