cheap mods that will get me unnoticed?

hey guys whats up, im wonderin if these mods can help get the car a little faster, without making it louder or obvious with a look at the engine bay.

Colder Spark Plugs- can these possibly void the warranty
K&N Air Filter
Spring Boost Mod
Downpipe- Does Corksport have a cat, if not which does?

also.. are any cold air intakes CARB certified for this car? i live in California, i know alot of smoggers that can just hook me up, but i dont wanna deal with all that stuff anymore, i wont care if this becomes obvious.

Are there any upgraded intercooler pipes that resemble the same look as stock.. i want a sleeper so my dad doesnt get mad at me for modifying another car (laugh)

im a newbie to this car so could you guys enlighten me on this upgrade path, please. also i want to know if anything goes wrong with my car can i just return the car back to stock without it being obvious.

P.S - are motormounts a good investment, take into consideration warranty/driveability.

Ask your dealership what will void your warantee and what won't. Get it in writing! Show your dad and then make your decisions.

the warrantee is very VERY hit or miss with the MSP. sometimes they will cover things that shouldnt be, while they void others that should be covered. The INJEN CAI is CARB legal as far as i know, the the spring trick is a great performance mod, but if caught it will certainly void any warrantee you have. colder plugs, meh, maybe if you have more mods...

just read around here and do your research, good luck and welcome...

ok, thanks alot guys, im gonna drive the car around stock for a couple of months to get the feel for it and then i will start modding. so this is what im thinking..
spring mod
injen CAI
Spark Plugs

im going to try to keep it down to just these mods for the next year and a half until my warranty is over.

after that who knows... intercooler, pipes, exhaust, downpipe, more fuel, bigger turbo..its gonna get crazy (crazy)

Injen intake for the P5 and MP3 is CARB, but not the MSP. They said that they were going to sell so few of them that it wasn't worth the fees ($6000).

Motor mounts should definately be at the top of the list.

Yeah, motormounts not a neccesary (sp.?) unless you want to race. Intercooler get a sidemount from cullen at www.**********.com

when did you get it?

click the link in my signature and fill in the info for the MSP database.

so will the intake have to be connected to a BOV or not? how does this work. and will i feel a significant difference with the intake, plugs and the spring. if i need an even extra push i might even put on a downpipe, but will this make the exhaust overly loud?

Spring do you mean lowering springs? or that weird trick to fake out your stock boost controler? and about 10 hp with CAI.

Intake goes to your turbo. bov comes out of your intercooler to your Throttle body. Down pipe is very restrictive but not overly loud with stock exhaust.

no, i meant spring that forces the turbo to boost harder. i like that idea alot. so a downpipe on the stock catback isnt a good idea?

That spriing to up the boost is a joke and a pain in ass. Easier just to buy a Manual boost controller. It doesnt look stock but just buy an extra hose if you are worried about the warranty. The dp is restrictive but im not sure how much it will help with stock exhaust. Better off asking one of the people who make them although im not sure any body has done it that way. (DP before Exhaust)
