Cheap forced induction or just cheap?

Gee, I don't know guys, you don't think its possible that after millions of people put countless hours into the development of turbos and superchargers that they didn't overlook the possibility that you could put a switched-on fan in your intake and get some power? :bs: :bs:

Hmmm...wait, this sounds familiar...oh I know, I remember some ricer kid with a yellow Miata installing a custom "blower" but it was actually a hair dryer fan with a switch attacked tied into his intake tube...but hey, he claimed gains of up to 30 HP! Wonder if that was at the flywheel or to the wheels...
