Changing the Alarm Sensitivity?

:
none
Does anyone know if or how we can change the alarm sensitivity? I have the basic stock alarm, not the perimeter alarm. This thing is so sensitive, it goes off at the slightest vibration. I can't turn it on in any parking lots, or it will constantly go off. It will even go off while opening or closing my garage door. Does anyone else have this problem?

u got a stock alarm....?
mine is aftermarket....damn u must feel lucky not to have to spend that xtra 300 dollas
as for your problem...i dont know what to tell ya

That's odd, I just assumed that everyone got one standard. On my invoice the alarm was listed as standard equipment. And the only optionial upgrade that I could of chosen was a perimeter alarm. My alarm has the remote door locks with it. Did everyone get remote door locks? Or was that an option like my alarm apparently was? Wow, I do feel lucky. I just wish it would quit going off anytime someone sneezes.

Are you guys sure the alarms is standard. I only have keyless entry. Most cars nowaydays anyway, only come with keyless entry. The alarm was another $300 or something.

I also got the stock alarm i had to pay and extra $250 for it is is a very good alarm though with starter kill and all. I am having the same problem if goes off with any loud noise. im taking mine in for service next week and im gonna mention it. I know under the dash board there is a box called CODE which i know is an alarm co. im afraid ill screw it up so i think ill just wait and let them look at it.

Did anyone else get an alarm stock?? i also got a cargo net 30$ option??

Mine had the perimeter alarm added on, the module that controls the alarm is to the left of the clutch pedal under the dash.

From what I understand there is a stock alarm. And only three options perimeter alarm upgrade, cargo net, and the wheel locks. I got all three :D . As for the alarm going off the only time mine has gone off is when I did not unlock my car and I opened the trunk. If I hit my windshield lightly it will honk a warning. I would see how hard to set it off but I couldn't hit my baby that hard.

Mine just had the power door locks. No factory alarm. The only option that was on it was the wheel locks.

I thought both alarms, regular and the perimeter were options, along with wheelo locks and cargo net.

I was gonna get an aftermarket alarm, but to get a good one it costs big money around here.

As far as getting fix underneath the dash by the clutch there is a small black box with a white small dial. if you turn it left it makes it less sensitive if you right( which it sould be) is more sensitive. mine it set up a bit below middle and it works fine. only loud cars or cycles set it off. hope this works guys :D :D :D :D :D

Thanks Danny. Mine also has the stock alarm. It is way too sensitive. It is so bad that any loud exhaust will set it off hehe.

Just adjusted the white dial on mine. i put it in the middle now i will only go off if something loud gets really close.

Mine used to do the same thing. I live close to an Air Force Base so everytime a C-130 would go over it would go off. It was really aggravating. But what is even worse is where I wrok at, our Coke plant is right next to the airport and can't ever have the alarm on or it will go off everytime a plnae takes off or comes in to land( depending on the wind). But I took mine to the dealer and he adjusted the little set screw under the drivers side dash by the clutch. ;)

I really don't think there was a stock alarm, I think the dealer "threw it in" (making you pay the extra of course). I got an aftermarket alarm only problem is the vibration alarm doesn't go off at all pretty much.

Cheers

I got all the options. Like someone said before, I can't even turn the alarm on in the parking without it going off as soon as I walk away. but thanks for the tip on adjusting the sensitivity.

Ok I was wrong before there is no stock alarm,I looked on my window sticker and there is no alarm under std. equipment. So there is not a stock alarm and then a perimeter alarm upgrade the is just a perimeter shock senser alarm option. Mine was $220 USD option code PSL
