CEL but no code when scanned?

Hi,
New to the forum and recent owner of a 2005 Mazda 3s. Soon after purchasing the car the CEL and airbag light went on. Had it scanned at local auto parts place with their actron scanner but no code was read? I've since scanned it with two other scanners actron pocket scan plus and autel maxiscan ms300 and both did not read any errors. I believe the obdii port is working because it detected the car make and model. Pulling the battery terminal didn't work to clear the light, maybe since there is no code? Short of going to the dealer I'm stumped. Thanks for any help.

Just take it to the dealer and hope they don't charge you an arm and a leg just for checking a CEL. Seriously though, hopefully a Mazda dealer can help you figure it out.

im a automotive tech and your actron code reader is not a scan tool ive seen this alot where some of the generic code readers wont pull codes that my verus pro will try a differant tool
