CDT Components.. about to install the CL-61 but have a question:

Ok.. I've been doing a little research and testing with WinISD Pro and I've decided that I'll be getting the e12k.44 but it wont be in a sealed enclosure. It'll be in a 2.0cuft box ported and tuned to 26Hz. This will allow a nice linear response and the -3db cutoff will be at 24Hz.. which is pretty low and I doubt I need to listen to anything lower.

Man, Rob, you read my mind!

I just spent a few hours experimenting in WinISD myself... posted some stuff in this thread.

Yeah, I agree, e12k in a ported 2cf/26hz is going to sound sawwweet! I just dont' want to compromise that much trunk space :)

I myself am planning on switching to 1cf/30Hz, if everything goes well. I just have to figure out where to get the box or how I'm going to make it.

How good are those boxes that eD gives blueprints from on their website for each sub? I'm looking @ getting one of these subs also, and want to make their 1.5 ported 10" Sub box.

They designed 'em with a purpose. They're total sound geeks, so I doubt they'd give you bad advice. If you're not sure, ask them. They're really responsive, and awesome guys!

Astral,

Great! I hope your ported box turns out great. I definitely think I'll be going with the 12k and have the box's width go from one end of the trunk to the other.. but it'll be slim so I will still be able to fit stuff back there. I'll take some measurements this weekend.. and if that is too much space, I'll just get a e10k.44 and do the same.. 1cf/30hz. :)
