Causes of warped rotors?

I've warped a second set of front rotors. I don't have a problem replacing them again, but would like to avoid this issue in the future. Does anyone know what causes a rotor to warp? (uhm)

The car is used on the track, maybe 4 DE's a year. On the track I run Carbotech XP-8 pads, on the street cheapo Centric pads - I granny it on the street and try not to sit on the brake when at a stop.

Thx

Extreme Heat is what warps front rotors 95% time, got 84K on original set with new pads (Hawk HPS)at 70K, not a hent of warp, Heavy right foot = warpped rotors!

Here you go: http://www.stoptech.com/technical-support/technical-white-papers/-warped-brake-disc-and-other-myths#

And for those that don't read it, properly bedding your pads combined with using a pad that is designed to operate in the temperature range where it is being used will prevent "warping". And just FYI, rotors don't warp, but they collect pad material unevenly on the surface as that article explains in excellent detail.

^This.

You probably just need to get your rotors resurfaced. I would at least try that before getting new ones.

Thx for the responses.

I had read the Stoptech paper some time ago, but it seems to be a little controversial. However, now I've re-read it I notice this: "When we are going to exercise a car that has seen easy brake use for a while, a partial re-bedding process will prevent uneven pick up.". I guess it possible that I'm not bedding in the track pads correctly - combined with grannying it on the street & then hammering it on the track I guess that may do it.

I did have my original rotors resurfaced at O'Reillys - the tech reckoned they were barely warped at all. It certainly didn't feel like it braking from 125mph!

FYI, the rotors are from Autozone (Duralast). They come with a 2 year warranty, so I returned them & grabbed some replacements - no questions asked.

Did not read the link and maybe this is included. But another major cause is getting the rotors hot and then running through water. The sudden quench cooling can warp them quickly. If you're running hot laps or otherwise getting on the brakes at high speed and bringing the car down quickly from speed, then running through water, that will do it.
