catless dp in new york

i was talking to my friend who has a sti and we were talking about how i want to get an exhaust and i said i have to get a catted dp so i can pass emissions
he told me he has been running fully catless for a few years and has not had a problem passing emissions, even once at a dealership

so does anyone in new york run a catless dp and still pass emissions, legally?

Orange County? Dude, I spent half my childhood at West Point. First 3 years of high school at O'Neill in Highland Falls. Learned to drive on 218, 9w, 9g, in Newburgh (ugh, what a craphole), and surrounding areas. My driver's ed teacher used to like to have us drive him to the mall in White Plains.

I'm surprised your buddy is passing emissions with a catless system. Do you have any idea what the emissions limits are in NY State? Maybe someone who's catless can tell you what kind of gases they're passing (hehheh) without a cat elsewhere.

I take it the inspectors up there don't do a physical inspection as long as you pass the sniffer test. Here in FL, before they did away with emissions testing, the physical inspection came first- no cat, no pass- you didn't even get to run the sniffer without it.

i thought that they did, but he said that he hasnt had any problems with it, even at a dealership!
