catback exhaust

Don't know if I have seen anyone on here running that. By far, the most preferred exhausts are the Magnaflow and Racingbeat. There are a few others, but the cheap ones especially (including this one) will drone loudly. For some guys, that's their thing, but for most it ends up being cool for the first few weeks, then a headache. Watch for used ones in the FS section...I got my magnaflow used from a guy for $175 shipped, and it is 1000X better than that one.

Value for dollar on Ebay is the JIC Magic Cat Back...or get the HKS Axle-back if you want more grunt.

I did a write up on this exhaust a while ago. Decent sounding exhaust especially for the price. Fitment was almost perfect, but I have heard of some people buying this same exhaust from different sellers and having a problem with fitment. But the main problem I ran into was after 6 months of use, the resonator started to rattle a lot. In my opinion I think buying a higher quality exhaust is a better choice. Go for a magnaflow, racingbeat, or even a custom one from a local exhaust shop.

I have the Magnaflow and I like it. It's not too loud, but just enough when you floor the car. Doesn't have a ricy sound, it's a nice exhaust IMO. The tip is not oversized either, so unless you know what the OEM tip of a protege is, you cannot tell at first sight it's modified. I got pulled over by a cop last month because of my HIDs, he checked the car real quick and never mentionned anything about the exhaust.

He asked me if there were high and low beam on these... so I told him yes, and I switched the high beams :P ( remember on the P5 when you put the high beams the lows stays on ) He told me : With these there's not a lot of chance you miss a deer and I started laughing then he asked me if these were aftermarket... I told him they were silverstar bought at canadian tire... and that was it.

With the OBX header the magnaflow drones a lot... I had to put a flexible of about 8" to remove some stress on the exhaust between the headers and the cat and now it's just perfect IMO.

Agreed, if u want an exhaust that sounds decent and ur on a budget this for you. I have it and I like it. If you have expendable income, then get a Megan racing. My buddy has one on his Acura and he likes it, smooth and mellow
