My boyfriend is buying a 2004 Yamaha R6 for 7,800. Well anyways where he is purchasing the bike they are offering a thing called Cashback vulture. What you have to do is mail the first form in within 2 weeks(proof of purchase) then 35 months when it matures you have 1 month to mail back the same information and get a cashback of 3,000. I guess they say they are hoping majority of people dont remember and it's all up to you. Has anyone done anything like this? We check with the BBB and they are all clear but I just have never heard of anything like this. Hes not purchasing the bike through the actual Yamaha dealership an autorized yahama dealer. Should we call the actual yamaha dealer and see if they have ever heard this?

Sounds like a rebate to me, basically. They're hoping you'll forget, but even then, they'll make money in interest on that $3,000 over those 35 months. Its a win-win for them really.

coalette I recnetly bout a TL1000R from a SUZUKI dealer and they ran the same thing. It is def. a win win for the dealer and theyre also hoping you forget so you all should stay on that...

if you are not buying it from a dealer...I would suspect the forms....verify it with a dealer...so that you know you are not mailing off your personal information to someone that is going to end up using it to rip you off....if its legit...GO FOR IT!

And did you go for it? Mail out your proof of purchase within 14days?? I guess this is what my boyfriend said was the dealer just recently sent the deals to cashback america and they have only done this for about 1yr now (trial and error) and they are not doing the full rebates. We read all about this comp and in the FL news they did a investigation and they can't get them for negative or positive. which sucks !!! so anyways he got the bike for like 7,350
He got...

What do you mean terrible first bike??Like as in the first pic or first bike for riders and insurance?? He had a bike before so it shouldnt be that high (it will but not as bad)? I dont know I dont know s*** about it :) He sai dhis insurance is only gonna be around 65 pe rmnth he looked into it hehehe I'm just his pretty looking gf /.. hahah :)

he'll need full coverage ins. and that bike is the #1 most stolen bike in the country.......

if he has some riding like a 10+k mi then he'll be fine, but alot of peeps claim to have ridden and what not....and tend to lie about there experience.......not saying thats your case........but that bike is not very forgiving , and prolly has an 85% crash rate.......yeah 85% of them get crashed within the first year.....

GRRR that's not making me feel to good over here !!! He drives like a maniac in his car .. But he knows his limits and when not to he's pretty good.. Im just nervous not about him but others on the road. I love him and odnt want him to get hurt.. Its kinda funny cause i have many friends who ride and they can do so much on there bikes... And I would always think it was cool them doing wheelies standing on there bikes and crap..but now its a diff story... I told him he has to take corners like a grandma dont want him on the freeway.hahahah and he looked at me all crazy :) told him i'd drop his bike like i dropped my friends R1 if he didnt listen to me HAHA.. but yea Im nervous about it all..I feel like im a mommy

bikes are very decieving........and thats the problem w/ the bike he's getting and others like his. 100mph is a cake walk......in a straight line......but the problem is, if an emergency arises, does he know how to handle it.

suzuki even puts a warning on all their race type bikes, that they are for experts only.....

has your b/f taken and motorcycling classes? do you know what his experience is?

it's hard to believe that he can only get ins. for $800/yr, but i guess if you live in the sticks it's cheap.....

I know he had to take lessons and get his license cause he got pulled over. Anyways enough about this Im getting worried :(
