Hey guys. Went to flash an ATR modified map with my accessport to my car today. It seemed to freeze at 0%. It was on 0% for a couple of minutes. Usually in a couple of minutes the flash would be done, so I knew something was wrong. I tried canceling the flash and it just went to a blank screen and stayed like that for a while. Tried starting my car and now it won't start, and the AP also cannot connect to the ECU. It says to turn the key to off and then back to on to try again. Doesn't work. Should I disconnect my battery to see if that will reboot my ECU? I'm really hoping my ECU isn't ****** up. I have almost 40k miles and I doubt mazda will replace the ECU for free. I'm at a family easter dinner and everyone can tell that I'm really stressed out, lol. HELP!

u need call cobb to c what they gonna do with it,some ppl on this forum had the same issue with this, and he sent the AP and the stock ECU to them... hopefully everything turns out better, good luck!

Yes, like I said in my other post, You need to send the ECU with the AP to Cobb and see what they gonna do with this. But you will lost your car for 2-3weeks

It's gonna start to scare people like me who bought the accesport used and have no warranty on it.

I'm not sure i want to spend the money for a new ECU and the repair of the Accesport if it happen to me...

Ouais Dan ca ma fait peur en maudit aussi.. sourtout a 2200 mais Cobb pense me rembourser.. mais c'est peurent pareil

What map version were you editing? Did you see our warning about a critical map and firmware upgrade? What year is your vehicle? Please call our customer service line at 801-713-0035 and we can help you with ECU recovery.

Travis,

Didn't mean to start a scare with this thread. I was trying to flash a Stage 2 map that I had edited using ATR. I did try and update my firmware the day before and whenever it would get to the last stage it would freeze. I actually left the computer to go out to dinner, came back 3 hours later and it was still on the late stage "Transfering updater".

Anyway, I did call COBB. Don't remember who I talked to, but he said that what most likely happened was the ECU was left blank, which is why it won't start and the AP can't connect to it. So I just sent it out to COBB in Utah, should get there by Noon tommorow, hopefully I'll hear from them once they get a look at it. I was assured that if they could fix it there would be no charge and it would be shipped back to me as soon as possible. If they could not fix the problem he said they would do what they could to refund me whatever costs to get a new ECU. I still love COBB and will continue to use their products. When dealing ECU's there is bound to be problems, COBB at least is taking care of them! Don't be afraid to purchase their products.

Little Update

Well no official word from COBB. They said they would call me by 8pm (6pm their time) but they never did. But when I called a couple hours ago they said they had been looking at my ECU and AP, At first it sounded like he said they had recovered my ECU, but then he said they were having some problems with it, and also they found a glich with my AP. So anyway, hopefully I'll get something more concrete from them tommorow. Keeping my fingers crossed! Pray to the mazda gods for me!

Final Update! I love COBB

Ok, well its thursday and I just received my ECU and AP from COBB. I mailed it to them monday and I got it back from them by 10am today. Thats less than a 4 day turn around. Long story short, the AP had my car down as a federal when in fact my car's ECU was registered as a california model even though I bought it in Jersey. That might be why I had the problem. Regardless, I have installed the ECU and AP with an ATR modified stage 2 map and it's running great. Feels so good to have it over with. Only cost to me was the overnight shipping which came to around 30 bucks. Thanks to everyone at COBB for great customer service. Now if you'd only bring back your FMIC!!

PIC 1 - Box from Cobb
PIC 2 - ECU
PIC 3 - AP
PIC 4 - My gutted engine bay
PIC 5 - Everything that needs to go back in

Last of the shots, plus a couple more cause I never got any shots up with my lip and summer wheels/tires on.

PIC 6 - Humpty Dumpty back together again
PIC 7 - New Lip
PIC 8 - Self-explanatory

Excuse me for the horrible pictures in my driveway, I'm not much of a photo person, and don't really feel like driving 10 minutes to a nearby park or some other location that gives better angles, but thats just me.
