Car sounds weak?

Hey guys, got my 03 6s a about a month ago and i just started to notice that when it starts up it takes a like 4 or so seconds to start it up even after it has been driven a few mins before so its all warmed up. It also sounds really weak when it starts up, like a lil baby car that has no balls, which is not what this car is, not at all! But i was wondering if the taking a while to start up is normal and if there is anything i could do, (besides an exhaust) to make it sound better when i start it, and give it more power of course.

Any and all help is greatly appreciated!! Thanks!

How many miles on the car? New plugs maybe. Maybe it needs a tune up. Those would be the first things I would do to it.

Do you know if the maintenance schedule was performed? There should be multiple services from 25,000 to 100,000 miles. You also have to consider that this car will not feel and run exactly like new because, of course... the car has 107,000 miles on it.

First step is figuring out if important maintenances were performed.

not sure, if i take it to my mechanic and get a tune up will they be able to check for me? Ive heard that new spark plugs may help but im not sure.

And about how much would a tune up cost and what are the benifits?

The first thing I would do is go back to where you purchased it and ask for their help retrieving the service records, or at least where it was serviced. If they cannot help you, a Mazda dealer might be able to look up your VIN and tell you if it was serviced within the Mazda network.

As for cost, it depends on what has/has not been done which you will not know until you find service records.

the place i got it from was carsense ( pretty much in PA, NJ) so nowhere near St Louis, but they changed a whole bunch of stuff, but had no previous service records. so i guess il just take it to my guy in a few days before it gets to cold out, cuz i dnt wanna go out and it not start on my way to school...that would be baddd.
