Car overheats only when AC is on.

Like the Title states, my car over heats only when the AC is on. Other wise the needle ALWAYS stays at one needle below perfectly even. Any Ideas? All I have done is added some anti freeze.

Are both fans turning on when you turn on the ac? That might be the problem. More stress on the engine without the proper cooling.

Well, the only time i turn on the AC is on the interstate going 70 plus mph cause I have to roll the windows up because of the wind. Otherwise I leave the windows down and AC off. So all I know is at 70mph it over heats with the AC on.
(If that makes sense)

Makes sense. When you are driving at those speeds, does your ac get cold or is it so-so? There might be something wrong on the ac side of things like their being a clog in your system.

Right, its cold but the comPressor cycles, it acts like it might be cutting off on low pressure but it keeps the cabin cold. I could take all the freeon out and clean the lines with nitrogen and re weigh in the system with freeon. Or I could put gauges on it to see if there is a line blockage....

Try to eliminate the possibilitys before you drive yourself crazy like my brother did when his car was heating up. He had a small hole in his radiator.

You could have a pinch/crack in the Ac Line..Mine does because when I took out my SMIC and installed Fmic I didnt keep the Smic installed because it didnt fit with my kit and it eventually cracked/got pinched and started leaking
