Car is in shop...Air Bag light...

Welp, the air bag light stayed on yesterday and the passenger air bag light does not come on. As well, they are replacing the auto-down feature on drivers window, since it only auto's to half way, mostly not at all. Plus, the passenger air vent, the round one, is broken... Funny thing since I never manipulate it, drive alone 99% of the time. We'll see what happens.

When the dash light is on, the system is completely disabled. The passenger light won't come on until it's fixed.

You should have your car back in a couple days unless they have to order parts. (thumb)

Same exact thing happened to my III. Air bag light wouldn't turn off, it is a sensor that makes the car think that there is no airbag. Got that fixed. Drivers side window wouldn't auto either, supposedely a new motor was put in. Was working fine for a while until yesterday I had to take it back, said they would call when part came in. No biggies, and I don't mind it when the dealer loans me an RX-8 as a loaner. Any trouble with the door panels right below the bottom of the window. I already had to have both of mine replaced as it was wearing down and cracking.

My airbag sensors were faulty too, thewy replced them, I thnk Mazda will issue a recall for the sensors

They gave me a Mitsubishi Outlander....damn thing is ugly.

The driver's airbag sensor in my dad's 3 went kaput at the beginning of March. It took the dealership an entire month to receive a new shipment of sensors from Japan. All of that time they give him a (smelly) Toyota Corolla.

Update: Service manager called and said Mazda has no TSB posted at this time, and the part is available, but not readily. May have it tomorrow or not. He wants to give the car back to me, to which I said "No Thanks". I'll just keep puttering around in the Outlander 'till it's fixed. Maybe this expense will make Mazda get in gear, especially when thousands of dealers are eating the cost of rentals for customers.

Oddly enough, my 03 Protege was in the shop for the same thing last month.. was out for almost 2 weeks waiting on parts. stuck me in a slow taurus until the weekend hit (5 days later) and then put me in a 4 cyl Mazda 6 auto. got them to remove my pin stripes, though, while it sat there.

Yeah they hooked me up with a red 6-speed Rx-8, I had it for 9 days. Made me want to trade in my III (as awesome as it is) for that rotary. Taking my car back in in a couple of weeks cuz my window messed up again, hopefully I will get that 8 again.

airbag light is fixed, as is the seat belt light/sound feature, but the damn window still won't auto down. Guess it isn't the switch.
