Car Insurance

My insurance just went up to 4500 dollars a year. I only have one accident and decent coverage. It is crazy!! I have insurance through progressive. So if anyone knows of somewhere I could get cheaper rates please let me know. I appreciate the help. Thanks.

Sounds like my dilemma...there's a link at the bottom of my signature explaining my story.

My premium just jumped up to $5500 a year. One accident, zero points. And I didn't even get any tickets or any at-fault accidents in the past 18 months. I was expecting my premiums to go DOWN, because I'm one year older, and my car is no longer new and not worth as much. Instead they go UP by $900. (fu) auto insurance scammers

yea that is the same s*** that happened to me. Its bulls***. Isnt there any inurance companies with decent rates? I am going to have to sell my car. its horrible.

WHOA! $5500 a year?! That's $458 a month! That's insane! I thought mine was high at $1600/year. Sorry to hear that.

I have AAA, by the way, in case that helps. One ticket (2 points), no accidents, and I'm turning 27 in October.

sonoafabitch! I pay 900 a year through progressive. That's for 300k/100k/100k/ $250 comp. and $500 collision.

Last month my insurance jumped up 75 bucks. I just got this month's bill today and it jumped another 19. WTF!? They said last month it was because they dropped my good student discount, because I'm out of school. What will be their BS tomorrow? I am 22, one accident, no tickets (on record :) ) . Im going to get them to quote me on a 2000 Subaru Impreza 2.5 RS tomorrow while I'm there....

I have progressive, i have one accident and 3 speeding tickets, one of which is not on my record, my insurance is almost 7k a year and they haven't calculated in the (recent) accident. PROGRESSIVE = TEH SUCKNESS! my car has 8000 miles on it and i 5 months old and the quote they gave me to fix my car is ALL for used parts THANKS FUCKHEADS, well as long as my premium doesn't go up much with them (which i heard is the ONE thing they are good for) i'll stay

I pay 128 a month through state farm, i'm 23 no accidents or tickets(knock on wood)...progressives quotes are the worst.

With my insurance rate increase, if I can't find a cheaper carrier, I have a much higher monthly insurance bill than car bill.

I pay about $110.00/month through State farm, I'm 32, wife did one accident and no tickets, price was $10.00 less before the accident. I also have a $100.00 deductible and multi-car discount (wifes car).

Mine is with state farm also, with liability and collision, $250 deduct. i pay (i think) around $540 every 6 mos. as far as tickets/accidents go i have none on my MSP, i had 1 ticket and a few minor claims (windshield, etc.) on my old 96 cavalier. I'm not sure if that affects my current policy or not.

I really need to look into State Farm. My buddy has it, and with 6 points his insurance is less than mine. He has a Spec-V and is the same age. I have $100 comprehensive and $500 collision right now, but I think I might lower my collision. It would have saved me a ton of money when my wheel broke on the freeway. I will probably look into wheel and tire insurance, too (Madza offers it, but I have aftermarket wheels. and tires).

damn, you guys are gettin rapped on insurance, i am with Allstate and have been for 9 yrs and i pay $77 a month!! No tickets though........my insurance is also gonna drop once i turn 25.....Allstate is the s***!!! May want to check into them.

$75 a month from State Farm - will go down when I hit 25yo in Oct to about $68-70.

I have:
Body Inj/Prop Damage Liability
Personal Inj. Protec.
100 Deduct Comp.
250 Deduct Collision
Emergency Roadside assistance
Uninsured
Underinsured

You guys are getting really screwed from progressive!!!

you just think you're getting a deal w/state farm...wait until you file a claim...you'll be cancelled quicker than a bad check.

$85/mo with 3 speeding tickets, 1 seatbelt ticket, 1 driving on shoulder ticket, and a DW.

Nothing for the last 3 years though.

85 a month? and your record is similar to mine... how old are you? what co. do you use

26 yrs old, Married.

I was with State Farm, it was 120/mo. Then I went with American Express, cause that's where I do my financial planning and stuff like that, and they quoted me at $70/mo. But then they saw my DW and kicked me off, so I told progressive what they had me at and then they said $85/mo. So I am with progressive to 2 more years until the DW is 5 years old.
