So, my car was molested by some stupid moron while parked and they took off. Figures. Insurance will cover most of it, but I have a $500 deductible, so I'll need to take care of somethings on my own. Let me know if you have any of the following:

One 2003.5 MSP wheel or 03/03.5 wheel set
2003.5 MSP driver's side, side-skirt in silver
A sunlight silver Protege driver's side front fender (one that fits the 03.5 MSP)
A sunlight silver Protege driver's side front and rear door shell

There's what I need in a nutshell. Throw me some offers through PM, email (livelyay@gmail.com), or phone (571-232-9514) if you have the parts.

Well...I don't have any of the exact parts above, but I will give you a few words of advice that will save you some cash.

The fender can be sourced from any 01+ protege or P5 with a side marker lamp. If its not silver then it will need to be painted...odds are,it will need it anyway. I personally have a good drivers side sideskirt ,but its Spicy. I hhave both but the passengers was damaged and needs repaired...I want $65 Shipped for both...Regardless...This alone will save you $100 and you would need to save a total of $400 on putting your car back together on the remaining parts. The side skirts only come as pairs new and only come in primer,so no matter what these would need painted. Let me know if you are interested.

Yeah more info for the fender. You can get it off any 02.5+ sunlight silver protege (dx/lx/es/P5/MSP), and you can get the sideskirts off a sunlight silver p5 or MSP.

www.mazdarecycling.com or www.car-parts.com are good places to start. Sucks about the hit and run, man.
Thanks for the first link, I already know about car-parts.

Also thanks for the heads up on the cross compatability for the parts. I have to wait till Friday for the estimate, then I can figure out what I can do as far as taking care of my deductible and paying out less than what my deductible actually is.

sorry to hear about the hit.. :(
Me too. Oh well, guess s*** happens to everyone now and then. Too bad it wasn't totalled, then I could have gotten a blue MSP. Any ways, gotta wait till Friday till I know anything. Hopefully they can cover everything and I'll take care of the wheel. Then I can buy a full set of wheels with tires and have my autocross set.

Took them last night, but left the camera at a friends after Super Bowl. Should get it back tonight though.

So where did the speed camera get you?

I have doors from my 01 protege mp3. they are blue but you could get them painted. let me know if you are interested. i am in central nj.

I will let you know. It all depends on how the insurance agency wants to handle things. If they just cut me a check, then I'll be buying everything second hand and having it painted (skipping the bumper and front lip of course because they just have minor scratches). What I am hoping for, is that they want to repair everything and the rim itself is $500 or more (which I am guessing it is close to), because then I can use my deductible to buy a new set of wheels.

It all boils down to what happens at estimate tomorrow.

A lot of the times, insuracnce companies will write out an estimate and figure out the total amount of damage done. Then they will minus 500 from that figure and cut you a check for the remainder of that...That is...if they don't total your car or you take your car to the Insurace Companies prefered shop.

But by the sounds of it, they'll put for a new fender and new door skins for both doors (depending on how badly the doors are damaged.) Or they may put for it to be repaired and bondoed. An entire door shell is quite costly if it isn't second hand. And I know for sure that insurance companies won't include a an new door unless the impact beam is bent. Or the entire door isn't worth saving. I had the same problem but I made the guy who hit me pay for EVERYTHING.

In anycase, sucks to hear about your accident and good luck with getting it fixed. If you lived in near me, I'd help you get it back on the road in no time at all.

$2800 worth in damage. The wheel itself is $320 plus $30 for the tire mount and balance. I'm going to make an appointment with a body shop closer to where I live and see what they have to say. I'll have them skip the wheel replacement and pay out the rest of my deductible and see what my options are for a full set of wheels.

Geico is cutting me a check for $2300. So does anyone have an MSP wheel for sale? I think if I don't find a replacement here I'll just have the shop fix everything and order a new wheel. Yeah this would be a good opportunity to get a new set of wheels, but I think I'd rather just have the body shop deal with everything.

hey livelyjay, do you know what body shop you are using? My MSP was hit on the toll rd a few weeks ago not much damage but insurance is paying to fix a few dents and repaint. This is my first time on this board, I was trying to see if anyone had info on body shops in the area

I'm going to AutoHaus in Herndon, never been there before. There is a place between Elden and 28 that my friend went to, but their work was pretty crappy. The place Geico had me go for my estimate seemed like a good shop, but they were backed up at least a month.

getpics up man
I've got the camera for the weekend, so I should be able to get some decent pics. Hopefully the weather participates and lets some sunlight out so the pics turn out nicer. I'll try and get them up by Monday.

Sorry guys, no pics from my camera. Here are the pictures that Geico took. You can kind of see the damage, it's hard to see with the silver color, since metal is silver too. Whoever/whatever hit my car, started on the back door near the top and dragged all the way to the front bumper/lip. The wheel got some nice gouges in it too.

Either way, I should have the car back early next week. I'll give all you NoVA people a review on the shop when I get it back.
