Car Covers?

Has anyone purchased any car covers? I've been trying to find one, but all are customs that cost around $200. I live in Pheonix, Arizona, so basically I need something that protects the paint from UV and dust. Any suggestions where I might find one (price, what I should look for)?

I need one too, but I can't find one either.

I live in Vancouver Canada, but I don't have a garage, my baby has to be left all alone out there, I definitely need one too.

I know how you guys feel. I dont have a garage either. I bought a Budge Lite Semi-Custom Car Cover from Walmart. It was $25 dollars i believe, and you need to get the "Size 3 Fit" (fits cars to 16' 8" in length).

It works great and has the following features:
Spun-bonded Polypropylene
Breathable
Water Repellent (not water resistant, big difference)
UV Treated
Double Stitched seams
and much more.

It doesnt come with a lock system (just a shoe lace string size rope that ties it down) but its not a big deal because the car cover fits perfect and is elastic so it doesnt need any lock unless you think someone will take the time to steal your car cover, then you can buy the lock for it by mailing the registration card plus $10 dollars and they will send you a lock kit.

All i had to do is cut a small hole after i put on the cover for the license plate to show and that was it, oh i also made a hole for the antenna (they have a kit with the system for the antenna hole). Well, i enjoy the car cover and at only 25 bucks you really cant loose, it keep my car clean and any bird droppings and harsh sun off of it.

hey dennis

Ive got that same exact car cover... I dont really know how it compares to other ones. But I think it's okay. Pretty good for being only $20. Have you noticed that bird droppings can still go through? Well I'm not sure about that so I have to check again. I originally bought the size 2 one cuz it says that would fit on a Familia. I guess the hatch made us have to buy a bigger one.

car covers

I have the same one as well, size 3 for my mp3. Use it on the winter beater in the summer as well. Made it through the winter with no problems.

Easy to remove to roll the car forward to save creating flat spots on the tires. Thought about using jack stands to lift it off the ground but didn't for this winter

A very important thing you remember when you are purchasing something like this to PROTECT your car....

YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR......remember...you are wanting something to PROTECT you investment....its sorta like getting insurance.....do you want the cheap stuff that you MAY be able to count on when the chips are down? or do you pry open the wallet a bit farther and ENSURE you can count on it? the choice is really all yours.

PERSONALLY....the only way I would go with one of those super cheap models is if I was only wanting to use it as a dust cover for a car that is kept in a garage.

So, what do you suggest we look for then? I mean, this one does have UV protection, water repelent etc.

it REALLY does depend on YOU...and what you are willing to spend....check out Carcraft covers....they are really good...and for a specific car model they have 9 DIFFERENT covers availalbe, made of different fabrics, depending on what you want the cover for....check out this site... http://www.carcoverworld.com/ they have a car selector and will show you the different types and what THEY charge for each. Carcraft covers have SPECIFIC covers especially made for both MP3's AND P-5's along with all the other models of Protege's.

I can see through my car cover (bought from walmart).. is that a bad thing???

are there any car covers out there that prevents condensation from occuring?? (i doubt it )

if you can SEE through your cover...the ONLY thing its protecting your car from is dust settling on it.....nothing else..

Badboyeeee.....go to the site I linked to above....you will find that they have a cover that will...in fact they make one that is waterproof....you can have a down pour and it will keep your car dry.....yet it has layers that "BREATHE" so that moisture doesn't collect UNDER the cover. its not cheap....but effective.

NOPE>...haven't even seen one...other than the listing of one on the MazdaUSA website in the extras section...but they don't have a price for it there either.....

if a dealer is telling you they don't know.....they are just yanking your chain....or they are too stupid to operate their own computer parts system......

oh....and I have no idea whether or not its waterproof....sorry:(
