Car Cover

Anyone purchased and/or using a car cover for the CX5. I figure its cheaper than building a garage, but I've been looking at "Budge" car covers and they don't list the CX5 because it's too new. Any input? Or even suggestions on car cover brands. (Protect from sun and light rain, no snow here)

I'd skip the car cover route because it tends to be a hassle. The wind blows it off, moisture collects under the cover, removal, storage ect. Plus cleaning covers are a must too. I had a universal cover many years ago that had a zipper for front door entry without having to remove the entire cover. It was still a hassle for me.

I'd visit detailing forums like autotopia and autogeek for good paint sealant/waxes that can withstand harsh environments such as snow and salt.

If you dont want to spend money on a garage, how about a car port? You could make one really cheap.

I was thinking about him building one with 4x4 posts set in concrete footings and an actual shingled roof. Cost of materials would be similar and It'd last a lot longer.

Sounds like a good plan.

I do use a car cover, but all it is for, is to keep dust from building up on the vehicle, while in the home garage ( a few days at a time ).... just a "cheapy one" that I picked up at WalMart.

as far as a inexpensive / kinda temporary garage..... I built what I call a "Rabbit Cage", and put it between the side of the house, and the fence. It is 20ft long, and 10ft. wide (it "just fit" ) ..... Big Lots had these tent things on sale, for $199, last month.

84' Diesel VW Rabbit, in it's cage. A strong running engine, w/ over 215,000 miles on it. (one of my hobbies )
